Have a nice day and enjoy this story.Feeling like posting my older works. They're all based in a sci-fi, Gundam/Eva/Macross alternate universe. They're for an old RPG I was playing a while ago. It's still there, although its a different version, and its activity kinda died... anyway GunEva www.geocities.com/gunevarpgAlthough they did have a guneva.com, it was pulled down after a couple of versions b/c of inactivity. Anyway, enjoy if you do read ^^ This section will deal with Midori. I think posting a majority of the stories might be going a lil overboard so if it is over the top, then tell me and I'll get rid of it... Character name: Midori Characters age: 15 (probably should be above 12 and below 120) Nationality: Japanese (american, african, british, japanese, ect...) Group Name: Nihil Obstat (name your group, can be anything not used previously in a series or previous GE version) Hair: Black, straight to shoulder length, not tied Eyes: Green, both fully functional. Maybe too functional at times Height: 5'4" Weight: 101lb Features: Scars tell stories, but she has noting other than Blood Type: AB- Place of Birth: Jupiter, Side 9 Date of Birth: Seident 18 86AI (Please check the calender to link AD dates to AI dates. Use your birthdate if you want.) Family status : Mother and Father [Missing] Otherwise none known. Brothers Jimmy 11, Lan 6 [Missing] Sisters Lydia 8 [Missing] Uncle Rupert 42, Acting Leader of Nihil Obstat -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERSONALITY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General: Midori is simple in her dress, but would be comfortable in a dress or pants. No in her spare time, she digs herself into researching history, shopping or sleeping. She'd also go ice-skating, whenever she can. Likes: Ice-cream, pizza and little SD dolls. Dislikes: Pessimism, coffee and bugs. Special (insanities?): N/A Skills of note: Strange nack for ice skating, hockey (field not ice), and basketball. When she yells on the field, people listen... Even the other team. Makes a great pizza and house sundae. Lack of skills of note: Every other sport. Lacks skills with computers. One button then... *BOOM* but as luck plays out she isn't hurt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Backstory -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: She grew up on the Jupiter Colonies, but was kept away from the world. Her family lived a dream in the colony, their lives for most part secluded from the outside. She wasn't as completely happy as she'd acted, as though there was a part of her that knew there was going to be an end to this 'dream', and as the world would have it, this seclusion wasn't as long lived as they'd wanted. The truth was that they were in hiding from the rest of the world and now they were found. Her parents left (or disappeared), her little brothers and sisters were scattered (taken? we don't know), she was the only one that remained. In her time along, the month that she was alone when everyone else were fleeing or fighting off the outsiders, she wondered the colony, she was lucky enough to survive. She was found by her uncle, Edison, who'd been searching for her all that time. For months she was void. She was restrained as tested showed, it seemed she was sleeping. There was no explaination. It was most likely traumatic stress the doctors told Edison. One day she closed her eyes. And she died... for a day, but a sudden breath and she emerged from her long sleep. But the personality was different. It was happy, though a little naive, like she was completely reborn without her past. She recalled in her sleep she had a dream. The only thing she could remember, about what had happened. It told her many things, but the main thing it was repeating was when they made her anew, she was to go in search of something. Ths dream was adament about the search. The search for what? she'd asked. The Search for Home. Her Uncle Edison now runs Attitude: Midori is the lighter-hearted type of lucky girls, that seems to have things go her way, and this is reflected in her personality. This kind of luck has also made her naive in the way that she believes doesn't see all the worst things in the world, but she has a fair indication. She radiates (not radiation) but a good feeling to most for some reason. The only reason Midori even jumps into the piloting seat is so she can get around without anyone holding her back, or keeping her from doing what she wants. All she really wants to do is search, not fight. Weaknesses: Very high inconsistancy. Either complete hitting, or complete missing, and a rare in between. The odds of actually hitting something isn't as high as she'd like. - - -

My first story for that version. Oh yeah This version had Aestivalis' in it too so its an...
Evangelion/Gundam/Macross/Nadesico RPG lol...
- - -
Midori, The Jovian Dreamer.
- - -
Midori ended up thrashing the next suit that came upto her. The simulated Beam Naginata sweeping across her one-eighty degree arc, slicing the simulated Aesti in two. It waved a white flag to signal it's surrender.
"This is getting boring now, they just run upto me so I can swipe at them." Midori complained.
Edison lifted his head from the control panel where a couple of his technicians were working too. He looked back down and spoke into the microphone.
"These were the warmup rounds, they aren't meant to be hard." Actually, it was meant to be a confidence booster. If he'd actually sent in the actual simulator level not many people would want to pilot anymore, especially when they have a computer wiping the floor with them, imagine what would happen in the mind of the pilots if they thing that was the warm up round only. He continued, "Anyhow, you seem to be doing well now, so I'm gonna jack it up a level higher."
However, he gestured the technician to put setting levels. But not by that little amount that Midori had heard him say it was going to be.
There was a flash onscreen. It showed the black space and then it went blank again. After a while Midori opened the comm screen popup again.
"OK! I'm ready!"
"Umm... you're dead." Edison replied blankly.
"WHAA!?"
"That was it, the enemy killed you with a shot to the thingypit."
"No, nothing happened. The screen turned on then off again." Midori protested.
"Well, the screen turns off when you die." Edison continued in monotone.
"NO! That was no fair!" She bashed him with the popup screen.
AYEAYEAYEAYE! Edison stuck up a white flag and got up again as she relented. He indicated to lower the levels. He was twitching from the screen's shock. "Oh-k, " he half choked, "Try this."
The screen turned on again and the opponent stood in front of her. The basic MP Aesti then multipled into a unit of them. Midori jumped the Verniers kicking in.
"Remember, you've got fuel limits now, so don't try to got over it or you'll end up space junk." Edison reminded her.
"Yup, yup..." Midori was concentrated on this simulated battle. The enemy Aesti fired their pallet rifles and she blocked with her tall shield then whipping out the rocket propelled wire they call a Wired Beam Cutter and sliced off the weapons from all four of the Aestis, but they then dispersed as she came closer. To which she readied the Naginata back into both hands and swept around her leaving all the simulated mecha raising white flags.
"Good. Now you're going to do that again." Edison as his technician reset the simulator.
"Whaa?" Midori complained as the thing was started over again. This wasn't the training Midori had expected. But then, it was necessary.
- - -
Midori was on the NOS Aurora. A Chivvay Class Heavy Cruiser owned by Nihil Obstat, whose purpose was to retrieve information and at times to fund their search for the ultimate truth sell that information. But in all, information is the reason they exist, information of what they hope to find along the way, but every scrap helps.
Anyhow, after the simulator session, Midori went back to her quarters. It was late in the day, but the bright star in the distance still shone, and the people of the colonies lived out another day as they had for years.
Midori went to sleep. And sleep she did as the cruiser closed to a colony to refuel.
- - -
In her sleep she dreamed that dream that she'd always had, the one of the endless stars and a single body she recognised as her home. There was a home that was waiting for her, and would continue to wait. A voice told her to search, while another said she wouldn't find it. But the voices fought each other as Midori cried in her sleep. Why she did, she didn't know. But she knew she had to follow the voice telling her to look, that was her decision.
The lights came on again and she blinked. She brushed her dark hair with her hand so it was close enough to it's usual length, and struggled out of bed. The mess hall was it's usual noise of grumpy grunters as well as those few well-wakers. They shouldn't have really called it a hall but a room, and the room wasn't that messy either. But still, the ship's skeleton crew did congregate there when they woke up. Some where having dinner and other breakfast. Such diversity in timezones on the ship. She found her seat where her Uncle had taken the liberty to order ahead of her. She sat down and ate the cold breakfast with as little expression on her face. She promised to herself that she was going to order a small kitchen be installed into her room.
- - -
The Aurora came into the visual range of the colony and requested the usual docking clearances. The 'OK' came in and the ship locked itself into place. Midori changed from her usual space gear into something more suitable for going into the colony. Denim never seemed to be out of fashion so she went with that. The elevator went down to the main colony from the docking level. The gate openned in the middle of this space city. Midori was accompanied by a pair of guards. Edison had gone but Reins was to accompany her on her little shopping trip. Reins was the Chief Mechanic onboard the Aurora, but today, he was Midori's shopping consultant. Reins himself was confused why he'd have anything to do with a girl's shopping, and considering he wasn't a pervert, it wasn't likely his position but then her realised what they were shopping for.
They arrived at the Aestivalis workshop and everything fell into place.
"Well Midori, here we are." Reins looked toward the sign. The shop looked more like a large garage, with the usual "SALE!" signs everywhere. Very... "Professional".
"Umm, are you sure?" Midori questioned the outward appearance.
"Well, of course!" Reins looked again. "This is it. I remember this shop pretty well. I used to work here. Repairing things that is.
"Ok..." Midori just followed Reins into the shop.
- - -
"OLD MAN! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" Reins yelled past the reception.
It was a nice enough place. The smell of hot steel seemed to be the dominent. Midori found a catalogue and began looking through it.
A plump old looking man in a cheap suit came out from behind the makeshift wall. He looked rather awakward but came over and gave Reins a hug.
"ARGH! REINS! LONG TIME NO SEE YOU LITTLE RAT, WHAT HAVOC HAVE YOU BEEN CAUSING?? NO YOU DON'T SAY!? WELL WHAT BRINGS YOU BACK HERE???" His voice was booming. Reins was crushed by the bear hug. He twitched as he tried to answer his old master. Midori removed her earplugs and turned to the man.
"Hello! How are you?" Midori greeted him. He seemed like he'd hit by a brick.
"Oh! What a charming girl you've brought with you Reins." the man focused on her. Reins got up and shook off the remainder of the shock from what had happened.
"She'd Edison's niece. Midori, meet Old Weasel here. That's his nickname of course, but that's what everyone calls him."
"Oh, very nice to meet you Old Weasel!" she said before he'd the chance to change the name.
"Well very nice to meet you too, Ms Midori." Old Weasel returned.
"Well, we're here to ge--" Reins was interrupted
"I found this catalogue over here and I looked through it and I circled everything that I wanted and--" Midori was interrupted by the phone. Old Weasel excused himself and Reins talked to Midori.
"What are you doing?" Reins seized the catalogue off her. Many things were circled.
"I was going to--"
"We only have forty five grand to spend here. We can't get everything they have."
"I know, but--"
"Your Uncle said--"
"But--"
"Not buts." He looked it over and at all the blue squiggles. "You circled everything."
"No, I was trying to say, only the things in red."
"Oh. You did pretty good. You know you didn't get any guns?"
"Yeah. I'm not really going to fight, it's more self-defence."
"But even so it add to fifty."
"Yup." she smiled. "So?"
"We have a budget."
"I know. This is the first time you've been shopping with me isn't it." Midori seriously looked at him.
"Yeah, what's the point?"
"Trust me!" she seemed to beam at him. Could he resist?
When Old Weasel came back Midori haggled over prices and parts and continued to do so for the better part of the day and well late into the evening, and figuring out all the figures until in the end they drew a conclusion.
"Oh my dear." He turned to Reins "You're girl's quite a haggler." But Reins who was fast asleep replied in grunts. The guards had nodded off until Midori nudged them away. Old Weasel slapped Reins on his back and laughed it off as Reins was startled. They left and the deal was done. Midori was going to get her ZeroG Kai from the shops in a couple of days and that was when she returned. In between she returned to the simulator and the books as well as got some of her own private shopping done. It was more of stuff she might used one day instead of stuff she actually needed.
All in all, it was a good start.

"First Fight!"
- - - - -
Midori awoke from her sleep with the Red Light switched on and flashing. She'd just had that dream again, but it was different, as though her decision to follow changed it. The comm screen popped up. It was the ship's comm officer.
"All personnel to battlestations, we're under attack. All..." he continued to repeat the line until everyone was awake and doing their job.
The Heavy Cruiser had been back to space for a couple of days now and was simple picking up the Nihil Obstat staff that were awaiting collection from their colonies. They'd visited two since them but still had quite a list to go.
She got up as Edison came to her room. "Midori, stay here, I don't want you to get hurt in this fight."
Midori nodded but she didn't really want to day anything. Then the thought it her.
"Wait." She cried out as he locked her quarter. She tried to use her comm but that was locked out as well. She was a prisoner. She changed and fiddled with the panel with took only three seconds to blow up. This was a record as the previous day, she's destroyed three of Rein's computers in about a minutes time. The door slid slightly open and she squeezed through rather easily. She ran to the launch deck where she saw Reins running with his team to repair some damages internal systems. She stepped the stairs and jumped into Aestivalis.
"Hehe, they won't know until I'm out there."
- - -
Meanwhile in the bridge.
"Sir, we've finished the drill." one of the technicians advised Edison.
"Ok, that's good." he turned to the next one "What's the overall report?"
"Well, there were four trigger injuries, two choking on coke ailments, three misplaced personnel and a shark bite accident." the techie concluded.
"A shark bite accident?" the first techie exclaimed.
"Oh, he's one of those mini walking robo sharks. Don't worry about it." Edison shrugged off.
The first techie now sitting on his console. The second techie found something else.
"We're also missing an Aestivalis."
"Say what?"
"That new silver ZeroG Kai, it's gone."
"Impossible. Midori!"
The comm screen popped up. Midori in the pilot seat in the suit.
"Where's the enemy?" she asked no knowing about the drill. Edison blinked.
"It was a drill." the techie said.
"Oh. Ok, nothing to worry about." she smiled. "I didn't know drills attacked."
"AECHK! No, there was no attack!" Edison jumped from his seat.
"Then they lied."
The second techie came up with a description; "Ahem, if you'd allow me to explain. A drill is an exercise to be prepared for something, and this was for an enemy attack. The drill you're refering to is an industrial tool, which I don't think many would be flying around in space and attacking ships. Even if they did, they wouldn't do much damage."
Midori blinked. She looked at Edison. "He's good!"
- - -
The next day was as most. Today they were visiting a colony for refueling and supplies. The only odd thing was that communications had been wery strange that day. It kept blinking on and off. Most likely the effect of a solar flare. The Aurora docked and the negotiations for supplies began.
Eventually the transfer began as Midori sat in the pilot seat of the Aestivalis running through the built in procedure manual.
The computer droned on. A small instructor Aesti onscreen.
"You can engage for a boost of speed by engaging the Verniers like so." the computer tone sounded throughout the cockpit.
"Uh huh." Midori tried it and the simulator proved her.
"Good. Now, to engage a full stop--" the computer was interrupted by an explosion from outside.
"What happened?" Midori looked around.
"FOCUS!" The instructor Aesti cautioned her.
"End lesson." She instructed.
"Ok!" With that the screen disappeared, but was replace with another screen. Edison's image was displayed.
"Midori! Thank goodness you're alright. The colony are launching their defenders, but they'll only be looking after themselves. I need you to get out there. I don't want to do it, but at this rate, it won't be much use if I can't defend my own ship. Got it?" he was ordering her into battle. That was a first. He didn't like the idea of his niece on the battlefield, but what could he do. His ship was going to be trashed if he didn't do anything. It was possible he trusted her to fight well.
The Aesti launched into battle for the first time. It fired up it's engines and blasted right out of the hatch. Midori nervous at her first time in actual combat. The enemy seemed to taunt her with their petty fire. The enemy a squadron of Dreissen. Those suits were almost four times the size of Midori's Aestivalis. The Zer0G Kai Frame did well in evading fire. Designed for space combat, it worked well at winging around. The colony had dispatched a small detachment of Zer0G frames. The enemy suits would have dwarfed them, but this team was a part of a militia it seemed, the color scheme and marking represented such. Midori hadn't time really to look at them but was concentrating on the two behind her firing their beam guns at her. A flash at what she'd done to the simulator when it'd decided to chase her made her decide on using the Wired Beam Cutter and she flipped and swung it toward the enemy. It caught the lead Dreissen at the shoulder ripping oof the entire arm and the gun. however, it retaliated with it's free arm's spare beam gun.
The Zer0G frames from the colony succeeded in taking out two of the attackers with only one of their seriously damaged. The enemy remained at three strong, two of which were chasing Midori.
She let the Wired Beam Cutter swoop at the enemy again, this time missing it by a small margin. The pilot of the suit saw a change in the time after the attack and punched forward with an incredible burst of speed, sticking it's Beam Naginata right at her. Luckily, the shield caught the blow and saved her from serious damage. As quickly she flicked the Beam Naginata into action. Fending off the blow. The she swung and beat it off again and jumped fight in. It seemed odd, the the Zer0G Kai frame sliced off the torso, although this didn't affect it's performance.
Suddenly, flashes came from behind and the small frame was aching from the punishment of a few shots in it's back. A retaliatory strike with a Beam Naginata was attempted, but was fended by the enemy.
"Aggghhhhh!" Midori was throwed around. Sweat formed on her, but never became droplets, but there was a humidity that even the life support couldn't filter quick enough. The frame was beaten at, and she was powerless to stop it. But it stopped eventually, and it became very silent, and her suit was moved. Aboard the Aurora. Midori, unconcious.
- - -
"Ms Midori. Ms Midori. Ms Midori, please wake up!" the voice was sweet, but extremely sounded worried.
'A dream...' she thought, but again that voice called to her.
"You still have alot to do... please." the voice was desperate. Midori opened her eyes, slowly blinking. It was a vast plain she was on. The sky was blue and grass was green and stetched outward forever.
"Where...?" Midori tried to speak. Her voice drowned by the wind.
It wasn't that the wind was strong, it's just that she spoke weakly. The voice spoke again, much relief in it.
"Welcome, Ms. Midori. This isn't real, because this place doesn't really exist anymore... Or at least in the sense of whether was can get here or not." the voice silence itself. It spoke with the wind. "You're hurt at the moment, but you'll live. But I can't allow you to ask me anything for the moment. It would take too much out of you."
Midori tried to move, but she couldn't. Clouds streaked the sky and soon formed a circle.
"Ms Midori. Although you were defeated in your first battle, you shouldn't be disheartened. There are many battles to come, and you have to be strong yourself. But you cannot be strong alone."
The weather changed, and the sky turned from a blue to an orange, and the landscape seemed to die. Thorns began to grow, Midori helpless as it crept on her.
"No time. To the asteroids and find the cloaked fighter. He'll have a star..." The dream cut off. The world vanished with the thorns that had consumed the dream. Her eyes openned and she breathed heavily. Edison was by her bed, along with the doctor. She was in a room unfamiliar to her.
"Thank goodness, you're ok." Edison's face showed his relief. The doctor told him to step back as she did her examination.
The report was that she was ok. The injuries sustained by her were minor. The damage to her suit however gave Reins enough to worry about for the next month.
Edison sat by the bed after the doctor left. Midori didn't let him get in a word.
"Edison. Can we goto the Asteroids?" Midori asked.
"Wha- why?" Edison asked.
"I need to go there. There's someone I have to find."
"Who?"
"I don't know. We have to go there."
"Then how are you so sure?"
"I'm not, but this is one off, I have to prove it."
"Prove what? What are you talking about?"
"A dream. Another dream. In it she told me to go there and look for someone."
"Why?"
"I don't know..." Midori blacked out and let the doctor take care of her. He ordered hi crew to return to the ship and transfered her aboard, against the wishes of the doctor.
The Aurora set out for the Asteroids.

"Focus!"
- - - - -
The Beam came around again, and she deflected it with the end of the Beam Naginata. Releasing the Wired Beam Cutter to flicking off the enemy's shield then the head, flicking again pulling apart the torso and arm. The suit exploded.
"Another please Edison." Midori ordered plainly.
"Midori, you have to get some rest. You've been there for ten hours already." Edison was worried.
"Another please." she requested.
The next squad showed up. A unit of S. Valkyries and a unit of Valkyrie E. Her Aestivalis was repaired and she went to fight the simulated enemy again. She simply released the Wired Beam Cutter into space again, the simulated suit wouldn't be able to see it in time. She was right. The first pair came past and were filleted but the Wired Beam Cutter. She swung around the Beam Naginata slicing the third into two, the thruster still burning it plowed right into the other and the S. Valkyries out of commission.
The Valkyrie fired their Micro Missile payload. Midori released a decoy which took most of the rockets. The WBC took a couple and her shield another few, only two actually hit. The right shoulder and leg. They fired their cannons and Midori dodged it with the agile space frame.
They turned to their Battleroid modes as one was taken in it's transformation a Beam Naginata through the side leaving it to explode. The explosion was more of a throb in airless space.
The Valkyries fired again and she made her way inward. Her Beam Naginata dashing about leaving more scrap metal in it's wake. The last one released the remainder of it's micros which she couldn't avoid, but her suit survived and she made her dash at the enemy who was still firing into the dust. The Beam Naginata smashing into MX. She swung again and again and made a final sweep which propelled her from the explosive range of the suit as it criticaled.
'Ms Midori... you can stop now.' that sweet voice from the dream called to her. Midori took in a breath and nodded off.
- - -
Edison breathed in and sighed. He retired from the console, where'd he'd taken a seat after his technicians were out. He heard footsteps and turned. Reins was at the door.
"She's been working hard hasn't she." Reins sighed.
"Too hard." Edison replied. "This isn't like her at all."
"No, it isn't. She's too concerned with fighting now."
"It's like that fight did something to her."
"Maybe it was the dream." Edison looked up.
"Dream?" Reins was confused.
"A dream. She had a dream while she was out."
"What was it?"
"The reason why we're going to the Asteroids."
"That's strange."
"Well, she is a strange girl. She was out alot longer like that before you know. She changed then too."
"What do you mean?"
"She was asleep. For a very long time. Then she woke up and she was that person we knew. It's like she was complete changed."
"Oh. What does it mean then?" Reins faced him.
Edison answer the look. "I don't know. I really don't know."
- - -
The alert alarm blared as the red light flashed. Midori jumped out of the covers and ran to to the change room, quickly switching into her space gear and ran up the stairs. She ignored the alert message over the intercom. Reins called to her. But she was in the cockpit of the Aestivalis before she could reply. A message popped up.
"Midori." Edison sighed. "You're going out..." It was more a statement than a question. He was worried. Midori's mood had made him weary of what she does and that she was rather reckless at this point in time. He reaffirmed himself. "Good luck. Come back."
Midori tried to smile. It wasn't really showing. "I'll be back Uncle. You don't have to plan another funeral yet."
The screen died and Reins' popped up. He was in a rush.
"It's all like you practised. I fixed up your Zer0G Kai so you'd have a new spare weapons. You might've noticed the cloth over the Aesti. That's a Beam Cloth, I'm sure you've seen one. This one you might want to try in the simulator later on. There's also a space Beam Saber in there too if you want it. That's all you need to know, good hunting Miss." he disappeared as she launched from the Cruiser. The cannons on it were shooting everywhere, and there seems to be about three units of Thunderbolts. They were in their original grey and white colours, making them easy to spot.
She flipped out the Beam Naginata and slashed into the first Thunderbolt, down it's side as it flew past, sending her Wired Beam Sword around back ripping past into the cockpit and slicing it off. No-one knows what happened to the pilot. One guess is that he went for a space walk.
"Stop this attack now!" Midori ordered over the communications to the open channel. They ignored her, one sending missiles at her, Midori slashed them to pieces. "STOP NOW!" her scream pierced the ears of all listening the transmission burst.
"You want to die girl!?" The pirate it seemed. He was transmission was coming from a far off position. "You take one of my men, I take you!" He came into visual. Guns ablaze as he moved in for the shot. It was a Shadow Hawk. Three of them. Midori's dark hair was pushed down at the sudden burst upward. The Hawks pulled up and she readied the Beam Naginata. She ducked under at the last second unleashing the cloth over the over the nose of the centre one and yanked down on it, tearing off the nose and destroying the sensors. "ARGH!"
Midori smiled smugly, but the soon disappeared as the Hawks that'd passed her had changed modes to Battleroid. had seized her Aestivalis. The Zer0G Kai frame was again dwarfed by the fighters.
"Edison. I need help." just as Midori had asked, the Shadow Hawk on her right was blown away by the Aurora's cannons. You never park yourself in front of a Heavy Cruiser. Midori whipped out the spare Beam Saber jamming it into the chest of the suit. It disintegrated and suit ruptured.
Midori leapt into action, reattaching the Beam Cloth, and picking up the Beam Naginata.
These Thunderbolts had simple enough weaponry. It seemed a cannon wielder group supported by the machine guns.
"I'm taking out the cannons!" Midori voiced back to the ship. "Thanks for the gunner that got that Hawk!"
That Shadow Hawk Commander left the area it seemed. The fighters were keeping up the attack. The fact that only one Aesti was keeping the fort was enough to make them laugh and keep shooting. The Aurora has a pair of it's cannons taken to the starboard side and one taken at port side, but the forward side was strong enough to hold up fort. Midori was fighting with a less Beam Saber that'd been wasted taking out that Shadow Hawk. But that was alright, she still had the other weapons. Too many to track as the fighters were always coming and going. She tried a trick that might work. And ducked under the ship, where they wouldn't see her. No-one ever sees the wire.
Suddenly a cannon seemed to pop up out of no-where.
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
The Aesti scattered. It wasn't expecting that close range attack.
The fighter wing came past and lost it's wing in the wire.
- - -
Inside the cockpit.
"... Ergh..." Midori was out of it. Alive, conscious, just knocked around. It hurt!
"Midori! Are you alright?!" Edison was on the line.
"... What was that?" her head was still spinning.
"That Shadow Hawk, we're shooting at him now."
"...that hurt..."
"Are you alright?"
"...yeah, just a little knocking around."
"Ok."
She sighed. Edison's screen cut out.
"Maybe I'm not cut out for this."
Another blast shocked the system. She looked outward.
- - -
Her Wire was gone, so was her shield that'd taken a shot. The Beam Naginata and a Cloth. She spun it and sweeped with the Beam Naginata taking the last high speed Cannon Lightning across the chest area and followed through with a stab away which only served to push her back onto the hull of the Aurora. Reins popped up.
"Stop bouncing on my hull!? I can hear you!" he popped out again.
"Gomen!" Midori apologised with a smile, one not seen by anyone for at least a week. Boosting off again she yelled. "YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"
She changed again. Uplifted. She dashed at the enemy who switched into battleroid mode. It dodged pretty well and it's shots were off. She came and rushed him.
"Slash! Dash! Stab! Cross! SWING!" she screamed out and the suit drifted onward forever.
"Hey girl! Take this." The Shadow Hawk appeared behind int it's battleroid mode with a Beam Scythe. Midori released the cloth and kicked with boths legs back swiping her non-beam end swooping up the beam cloth and following through with a finishing slash, slicing the fighter in two. "NO! LITT-- ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!..........." BOOM! The explosion seemed to rock the entire area. The enemy without their commander wasn't exactly an enemy worth worrying about usually. They packed their gear and ran. Of course, they had little to pack now, the attack seemed to do quite abit of damage to them.
- - -
"Ms Midori." That voice. That sweet voice in her dreams. Was she ever happy? "You've been well I trust."
"I..." Again Midori's voice failed. Like the last dream. She couldn't speak. The sun was warm, the grass green and the sky blue. Like the last one.
"Please, Ms Midori, don't speak. You're almost there. But you must remember youself. Don't become a monster. You need to keep yourself as you are. You shouldn't change your heart because of the pilot seat."
The clouds came and rolled on. It was a calm place. Midori breathed in that spring grass smell. It seemed so real... somehow.
"Take your strength and continue your journey Miss. I have faith in you."
Midori was taken aback by that last line. It was strong. It felt as though the world shifted as she returned to the dream state. The world vanished and the blackness came again. She lost interest and drifted to sleep as the Aurora continued to the Asteroids.

Kirean Lang, The Cloaked Star
- - - - -
Shockwaves rocked the hull. A flare was released from a Zer0G Kai. The aggressors blinded as the crippled cruiser tried to speed away. However, it's engine failed. The last hit had taken the cruiser's engine line out. It was out of wack and soon the flare died. The DovenWolf fired it Bazooka, another blast rocked the hull.
Soon the fires started erupting the fuel lines and that spread and soon the ship was in flames.
Tha Aurora was beyond repairs. The former occupants took to their shuttles and cast off. Their ship no longer existed. Just a heat withered frame, floating in space.
Their support arrived of course. But too late. The NOS Pulsar with it's support crew. They Aestivalis cleaned up the mess. And picked up the men and women from the ship formerly known as the Aurora.
- - -
Midori was not found to be among the crew picked up. But this didn't matter too much. They knew where they'd find her, eventually.
- - -
She landed aboard one of the rocks they'd hollowed out for people to live in. The asteroid was now full of miners, and those miners families lived in the Asteroid Bases. Midori leapt from the Aestivalis to the platform. The artificial gravity wasn't working at normal capacity. Her black hair seemed to follow one step behind her as she moved about. It was cold, but this place was becoming more of a pirate home. Chaos Star Pirates.
Midori found a path and pushed off along it. The gravity was weak but continued to grow stronger. The path met her feet more often as she continued to the metro. She found it. Gravity wasn't full, but it was enough. She walked down the street. She'd taken to the covers of a heavy cloak, it was the fashion they said. 'Some fashion...' Midori thought of the fact that it was heavier than she was rather annoying. Good thing the gravity never really works. The figures in this part of the Asteroid seemed to all be in cloaks. She heard laughter somewhere, but that was soon muffled. She bumped into a man who grunted and continued on his way. The worst thing about her position was that she was alone at the moment.
"Psst!" Midori heard a hiss from behind her. She turned and saw nothing. She shrugged it off and turned back. "Psst!" the whisper before was now louder. "Ms Midori. Over here."
"Huh?" Midori turned but saw no-one. "Who is it?"
Out from the shadows came a cloaked figure. He was taller than her, and as he removed his hood, he seemed rather youthful, but was a sly look of youth.
"Kirean Lang at your service, Ms Midori. Nihil Obstat Agent Second Class, trained to pilot Veritechs, specialised in silent retrieval." The figure bowed. He was sincere. He knew there was no-one nearby. No-one would've heard that if Midori hadn't bumped into that guy back there. Damn bug.
- - -
They were soon surrounded. Five men with knives, they seemed to all have left their guns at home today. Or they were feeling like some knifing. The men closed to a point of no escape.
"You know Ms Midori, it's be nice for you not to touch these people ever again. They have all sorts of bugs on them." Kirean whispered.
"I know, but what do we do?" Midori was shaking. She was afraid.
"Do you have any weapons on you?"
"Why would I???"
"You're in a pirate base... you'd be naked without one."
"Oh... I didn't know."
The leader began his little part.
"Hey! No outsider is going to give out our secrets."
"What do you mean? I have no secrets!" Kirean rebuked the statement.
"Shut up! You're an outsider. You die for e-spinach!"
Midori and Kirean both had the same expression on their faces. They blinked.
"What's e-spinach?" Midori asked Kirean.
"I think he said we're going to die for eating spinach." Kirean replied to her.
In the background he continued his speech before his men told him to actually look at the outsiders who were whispering to each other. "HEY" the leader was fuming.
"Yeah wait!" Kirean brushed him off and continued his little conversation with Midori.
Meanwhile the leader of the attacking group went nuts and then though of something that'd get their attention.
"Do you have any last requests before I kill you?" he boomed.
Midori faced Kirean. He nodded. She turned to the leader.
With a blank expression, Midori asked. "What did you mean by e-spinach?"
All of them fell. Midori still smiling. The leader of the attacking gang broke the handle of his big knife.
Midori offered her hand to Kirean. "If you please! Let's go!"
They started running.
- - -
Midori had found the person she'd come to pick up. Strangely, it was rather easy. Luck probably. The Silver Black Aesti and Naval Green Shadow Hawk made their hasty exits with Marasai on their tail. Not very happy. Especially there were Valkyries supporting the Marasai.
"Ms Midori, you know we aren't going to ba able to take them all on." Kirean told her through the comm channel.
"I know, but what can we do." Midori thought for a while. "Could you do me a favor if we get out of this Kirean?"
"What is it Ms Midori?"
"Don't call me Ms Midori, Midori will do just fine. I don't like people saying that just because my Uncle is their boss."
"No offence to you Ms, but I don't really say so because of Master Edison, it's more because I kinda get this feeling about you."
"Oh?" Midori looked over her shoulder. The missiles quickly gained as she flicked a switch. The missile suddenly erupting into flames on the barrier she'd erected. "We aren't going to be ahead of those Valkyries for too long Kirean. Considering they're in missile range now."
"Deploying my decoys." Kirean dropped off his mined decoys, the explosion wasn't too spectacular. Just a couple of puffs as they shot through it. "Didn't do much good did it."
"I don't suppose wasting ammo counts for much does it."
"Not unless we've got the armor."
The first round of fire started coming in. The Valkyries were in range as Kirean dropped out of full thrust in fighter mode and seemed to fly backwards flipping into battleroid mode, both his Gatling Shields flaring away at the enemy. The two forward fighters were ripped away in the hail of gunfire. Midori also turned releasing all her Micro Missiles at the enemy. Wiping three out of action with the barrage. Four more Valkyries, with eight Marasai coming right after them.
"We need to rush the Marasai and take them out of the game quickly. The Valkyries should be easy." Kirean told her.
"You fight a lot don't you?" Midori asked honestly.
"It's part of the job, not to mention fun!" Kirean chuckled as he ripped into the next Valkyrie trying a fly past.
"You're rather mean." Midori disapproved. She tried to get her Naginata into the enemy, but a stray bullet flew straight into her hand destroying the weapon beyond repair. "Damn, my Nagi! You die!" Midori unleashed the fury of her Wired Beam Cutter, slicing the fighter in two. The beam slicing at the neck of the cockpit.
"I said fighting, not killing." another fighter blew up in front of him. The last retreated before they'd a chance to reach him.
- - -
"Careful of the Hawk, it's got some Gatling Shields you should worry about. The Zer0 G frame shouldn't be too hard for you to get rid of, considering the fact she's got no guns." the Valkyrie pilot informed him collegues.
"Ok, thanks, we'll take out the Hawk." the leader in Red replied with his gratitude.
"Just don't let them get away, they killed eight of us, I wasn't going to risk my own ass out there."
"Ok, just get back and wait in the bar, we'll get the outsider."
"Roger."
The communication switched to another screen. A masked pilot was on the other side. The black cloth covered his mouth and nose, while a visor covered his eyes.
"There's prey coming. Don't let them get away."
"I never do Guss. I'll take hostages. You can have the stuff I get."
"Good." he ordered his men to stand down from chase mode, and return to base.
- - -
"Let's go!" Midori commanded. They changed plans and started heading further into space. "It's better than going up against those Marasais."
"Yeah, but I like a good fight." Kirean pouted.
"A fight you won't survive from isn't a good fight."
"No, but a fight without a challenge isn't a fight at all."
"..." Midori was silent."
"Ok, let's go." He transformed to fighter mode and they began away from it again. A Black Space Type Combat Evangelion followed them, it's Hyper Jammers active. Following them to the NOS Pulsar.

Celeste Serane, Lady From Mars.
- - - - -
"Argh! Damnit!" Kirean continued to fire his Gatling Shield at the enemy. He was almost out. Midori had gone for a spacewalk, her suit was the first devastated by the Black Space Type Combat Evangelion.
- - -
"Oh dear Ms. Are you ok?" a voice close by talked to her. Midori opened her eyes, but shut them quickly again, the light was seering with brightness today. "Oh dear. Here." There was a cool cloth placed over her head. The dampness sunk in and she relaxed a little. This reminded her of the pain from her side. Again, she was here. She imagined the grass and the sky.
"Why...?" Midori's head started to spin as she collapsed backward.
"You've been hurt, you must take care." the voice was calming. Similar to the dreams, yet different in the way she spoke. "Please lie still, I've got to take care of this."
"...Am I here again?" Midori asked.
"Yes, you are here... you'll be alright." Midori felt fingers working around the pained area. She felt a prick of a needle and a numbness set in. Her skin was pushed against she knew, but felt nothing of it. Was this her dream? It felt weird. Different. "Ms, I recommend you not fight anymore for a while..." the girl said to her.
It was like the dream. The voice was similar but the words different, they weren't so urgent. "...wh..." Midori couldn't speak. She has a few lines in before, unline the previous dreams. Her voiced failed now she thought of it.
"Don't speak dear, it's ok, I just have to make it look pretty again."
"..." Midori remained in her silence, her mind had wandered to a more interesting plane now.
- - -
A Silver-Black Aestivalis travelled to it's destination. It was the computer generated Aestis. Midori's head was the Aesti's head now. but the body looked more like a chibi suit with the outline of her form with Aesti arnaments on top in chibi form. She looked at herself in a camera.
"Oh my. This is... sick..." Midori looked closer. "sick... sick... sick..."
"Hi there!." Another chibi Aesti popped up. It was White and Light Blue. A newer model it seemed. There was another chibi face on it. A girl with long blonde hair.
"Oh! Celeste!" Midori was surprised, she hadn't seen Celeste for a while. It's been about half a year now. Celeste was a colony girl, "Born on Mars but taken to the stars." that's how she put it. "What are you doing here? I thought you were staying there."
"I was, but I got bored, so I found out that you were somewhere out there, so I thought I'd come by."
"What is this?" Midori asked. She hadn't been in this VR game yet.
"Oh, it's just a fun little game." Celeste looked away. Reached behind her and pulled out a lance. "Here we go. Catch!" she passed Midori the lance and took another out of her backpack. "Ok! Let's go!"
"Yeah!" Midori and Celeste made their way into the game. It was quite alot of fun. At least it'll keep her from wanting to join the real fight.
- - -
Kirean fired two packs of Swarmers at the enemy. "God dammit!" The missiles bounced off the field. He continued to fire his Gatling Shields. The Chivvay's Delphinium squadron relaunched with their launchers reloaded.
"Squadron, we're going to wait for the special package before attacking. Got it?" The squad leader called to his men.
"Yes sir!" They all replied at once.
'Special package' Kirean thought as he tried to track the enemy. His Hyper Jammers were making it hard to track. His screen buzzed red. The enemy was behind him. He turned and fired his last swarmer pack, the explosion as it hit his field knocked him back. "God dammit!" he pulled the trigger to his guns. They clattered. 'Oh shit.'
"Haha! You're mine YAAAAA!!!" the Black Eva raised its Sonic Glaive, it came sizzling down.
- - -
"YAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" Celeste came into the fight with a quick burst. Slashing in the final second, cleaving right through the yellow bug-like robot.
"What are they?" Midori asked. "They're so... ugly!"
"I think they call them Grasshoppers. I don't know why, but we're supposed to kill them." Celeste slammed another. "They are ugly aren't they." Twisting the Lance into it.
Midori swung the lance around running a gash in all the suits.
"Wow Midori, you're good. Five in a single swing!" Celeste had envy in her eyes.
"Thank you Celeste. This is kinda fun once you get the hang of it." Midori laughed.
"Umm, it's just like piloting an Aesti in real life."
"Well maybe that's it."
Celeste pulled out a very strange weapon, a Grasshopper with it's legs tied. The thing went off like a firecracker sending tiny Micro-missiles everywhere. "Ow! They was fun, but rather damaging."
"But you took out twenty with one Grasshopper, that's pretty good."
"I guess it is isn't it, Midori! That's how a pro plays."
"I guess I've still got heaps to learn" Midori and Celeste moved on. The quest's end nearby.
- - -
BLAM! A flare burst into light. Kirean dodged the heavy swing attempted by the Black Eva. Soon followed by two Delphinium squadrons worth of Swarmer Missiles. There was no field.
"HECK!!! What the hell!?!?!" yelled the masked pilot. "How could you defeat the barrier???" He retreated back a safe distance.
"Haha! Nothing without your AT Field are you!" Kirean burst out.
"Do not speak about your victory. You haven't won! And you won't." with that he disappeared. They'd meet another day, another place and time.
"Thanks for that." Kirean added when he'd left.
"No problems, it's our job." The squad leader landed.
Kirean looked out to the stars. He thought of what lay out for him now. He was to join Midori as one of her bodyguards for his next assignment.
- - -
The screen blacked out. The game ended. Midori fell asleep. Maybe she'll finish it another day. Celeste removed the VR unit.
"Goodnight Midori. We'll finish the game another day."

Story 1 : GE Version 7.01
- - - - -
It was calm and peaceful, nothing was happening for the moment. The orange sky and the orange land behind the glass. In a spartan room, a small single bed, with plain white sheets. She'd been here for a month now. The world changed after her ship was destroyed. She remained as silent as she was before. A Year Ago. A long time ago.
There was the low humming of the air conditioning, but nothing else since this room was sound proof. Even the glass was made thick enough to prevent anyone putting a bullethold in it. Of course, who was going to do that out here in the middle of no-where?
Her former charge in searching for the ones who would help her home, was now gone. She had a new calling. One that seemed strange, but it was comfortable for now. She didn't know where her heart lie, but one thing was for sure, there's nothing she could do to change what'd happened.
- - -
Blam! Blam! BLAM! The holes seemed to multiply every second. Three Evangelions, Devils of Mars, latched onto the hull of the ship. Those three devils, ripped into her armor. They took out sheets at a time and turrets if required. They were there to kill people.
Behind them, there were their minions. Valkyries of the damned. Swooping in from all sides, running lines of fire into the ship. This Chivvay was doomed. It was dying. Her crew, no for longer. The irony is that all her defenders were claimed, yet there was one that survived. It isn't understood why, it isn't understood how, it's just understood, she's there, and now she has a new charge.
This charge is lesser compared to her old charge. Her duty now was to her people. The people who believed in her. They prayed and they sacrificed. None without bitterness. Now was a time of actual darkness.
Some where they were believed in her. They believed, that she could be their leader. She believed otherwise...
- - -
There was a soft knock at the door. She turned from the window and released the door from it's closed state. A young lady of fair dress entered. Her steps light, not to disturb her lady's thoughts. The servant had hair of white. She bowed, leaning her head forward. It wasn't until her lady waved her back she returned to standing straight.
"Lady, your bath has been prepared. If it would please you?" the girl informed.
"I would." The Lady, only a girl herself, however, her face and heart weighed her down. Making her appear older than she was. She brushed her hair over with her hand, failing with most of it falling back.
"Lady Midori, may I do your hair later?" the girl asked.
Her lady looked sharply at her. That name seemed to hurt. Her face may've seen fierce at the time, but her heart ached at the use of that old name. Too many people she'd loved had used it in the past and didn't exist now. Her expression softened and she smiled. There was much relief on the girl's face.
"You may," the Lady thought for a second, deciding not to caution people about that name. It was her name. The one given to her by the parents she loved. The only gift from them she had left. The only on that they could find her again with. "What was your name, dear?"
"Oh!"
Midori looked on as the girl looked startled she's asked. Midori thought she was a little strange. "Oriana wasn't it." The girl seemed a little more startled.
"Yes, lady." Oriana smiled with a hint of relief. "May we go? Your clothes have been prepared."
Midori nodded and they made their way to the baths.
- - -
After bathing, was time for lunch. It was usually held in the formal room. It was a crimson room, with heavy draping and a warm centre. The overhead was a glass ceiling, the orange sun shone through the dusty sky. The hall was silent as usual, disturbed only by footsteps that slightly echoed. Midori finished her meal and retired to her room. Oriana following her.
Midori sat at the chair facing the window. Her mind was comtemplating the facts and trying to thing of what she should do. Here was her new home, one suited by rights of being special because of her nature. Being a survivor from the heavens, it seemed she would be perfect to stand in a positions of power. But how could it be? She was the same person. Just because she was spared from the slaughter didn't make her special. Or did it? Was there merit in being the only one to live when all others died? Was there merit in being the reason that many now are dead? One thing was for sure. It hurt to think about it but she couldn't resist the chance to suffer. Maybe it'd lessen her guilt.
- - -
Time passed, and during the Martian night, there was an explosion. Midori had heard only one that was louder, however, this time it was close. Soon another explosion rang. And the another. Midori peered out her window, and saw another explosion just outside. She was thrown back into Oriana who'd just entered to see if she was alright.
"Lady, we must goto the shelter." Oriana said urgently, pulling on Midori's arm. Midori followed, what else could she do.
The went down many corridors. The explosions continued to be heard as they rushed to the shelter. Suddenly a great explosion rocked the buildings core, Oriana falling over, however Midori retained her balance. A new path opened, as that old voice, the one she'd not heard from in a while came to her. That girl.
"Here's the path. Take it and meet me again..." The voice faded away. Midori paused, a look of confusion appeared on her face. Oriana still dazed. Midori knew her path. This was what she'd been waiting for. She took off. Oriana noticed and called out. It was too late. Midori had chosen her path. It was going to be her fight.
- - -
Down that corridor was the blasted wall. The Lady jumped over the debris, and ran until her fate. The sound of fighting seemed to die out as she followed her path. The girl of her dream had given her a choice to chase her path. She heard that voice and turned to face it. There was another hole in the wall of the compound. She entered into it. It was a storage chamber. She looked at the Crimson Giant. Evangelion, the name of the beast. The glow of fire made it the giant look as though he were dripping with blood. This was Midori's chance. She could join her friends in this fight.
She jumped again, over the railing unto the entry level platform. Her feet hurt from landing on steel, and she was sore from the exercises leading upto the discovery, but now she was her, she couldn't turn back. The entry plug opened. Sliding from the entry point. It was inviting her in. Midori looked up and around to see if anyone atthe control room. No-one. This Evangelion was hers.
The plug closed itself. Midori starting the system. Her hand gripping the controls, she looked at the Nano Controller on her hand. She then wondered if she would ever use it again.
- - -
"This is White Leader, procede with demolitions." The first Ground Combat Evangelion advised. There were also two others.
"Sir, when do we finish?" as the second White.
"Yeah sir?" Asked the third White.
"As soon as demolish this entire compound. That was our contract." White Leader answered them.
"But this is boring. No-one's putting up a fight." the second White complained.
"But they pay good money." White Leader fired another shot into the building, however from inside the building something rose. She building shuttered as an invisible field pushed it's way outwards. "Hey Dwight, here's your chance I think."
White Two stepped forward. "Hmmm, looks so."
"Harry, continue demolition." Leader ordered White Three.
"Yes sir!"
Dwight handled a pair of Shortels, Midori emerging from the smoke had been monitoring communications, aware there were only three enemies. One was distracted, and the other happy not to do anything but look and fire the occasional shot. Only one really looking for a fight. Dwight made the first move.
"Here ya go!" Dwight rushed Midori. The AT Field was neutralised as they came to combat. The Crimson Eva deflecting the attack with it's Sonic Glaive. Midori swinging the seering weapon leaving a gash in the side of Dwight's Eva. She then curved it around, using the momentum to rip into through the beast's head, then using gravitational pull to finish off with a final slash attack right down the centre. The Evangelion falling to pieces.
"Oh shit. HARRY!!!" White Leader's call wasn't answered. Midori had run her Glaive into the back of the Third Evangelion's back. He tried to fire his 180mm Cannon, however it was out of ammo. "Damnit!" Midori slammed into the white Eva, pushing it down with her foot, the Glaive right at it's neck.
"Are you afraid!?!" there was a terrible shrill vengeful voice. "DO YOU FEAR ME?!?!" Midori was screaming on top of her pitch.
The White Leader chuckled. "No b***h!" His sidearm flicking upward firing a pair of shots into her face.
"Eyyyyyyyye!!!!!" Midori whined. 'It hurt. But why...'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Midori's Current SIDE 6 Colony Residence ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The apartment was lit orange with a pale light that appeared through the ceiling. The shutters were drawn to keep out the light as she tried to sleep. Her long black was sprawled out beside her as she'd jumped into bed after getting home. The week was over, her first week at a normal life in a long time was over. She blinked her emerald eyes peering at that orange light. 'What was that...?' she wondered. She let the thought go as her eyes closed, they were tired. 'Maybe I shouldn't play that VR Game so much...' her thoughts weren't really coherent at this time of day. 'But I promised tomorrow...' And now her thoughts now passed on, away.
- - -
"Hmmm... I don't want to wake up... I have to... erghh..." Midori mumbled to herself as the alarm went off. Her hair was in tangles, she scratched the back of her neck as she droned to the bathroom, grabbing pieces of clothing from the pile she hadn't properly packed into the cupboards yet. She emerged her bright self. One that had showed itself far more in the past few days than it had for four years. She wore simply jeans with a black shirt, for there was nothing more plain then that. It was for her getting used to it period. She thought it would not be detrimental if she wore this.
But then she'd forgotten. It would not go with white gloves. She had to pick out another pair, black with no tips. 'Perfect.' she thought putting on a beret then a jacket. 'Why not, I suppose...' she'd given up her drive for simplicity, and that protecting that secret of a nano-controller from her friends greater than the impression whe would make otherwise.
Elise was there awaiting as they'd planned. Elise had made Midori come out earlier then the rest of the group, so that they could play a game of that Aestivalis game that they'd been somewhat obsessed with. Midori had discovered that nanocontroller would work through a membrane it just depended on how you went about it. So there was no need to remove her gloves in the game. She was equal pretty much with Elise on their leveling in this former simulator turned game.
"Midori, I want to practise with you instead of challenging ith you today, I think we can try the story mode before the rest come. Half an hour should be able to clear a couple of them at least yeah?" Elise reasoned as she jumped into the game suite next to Midori's.
There was no need for Midri to reply now, because everything Elise said Midori tended to follow for now. The game started and they began the session.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space, Blue Valiance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The stars and a distant colony appeared through the screen, but it was a false screen, even if the images be real. Staring at the screen, was the Heavy Battleship's Mobile Suit Commander Lieutenant, in a Blue and Grey Uniform distinct with the Nihil Obstat circular insignia, having a diagonal N almost a Z through a Grand star. The Lieutenants dark hair was tied and tucked under the blue-grey beret that was standard with the uniform. Her eyes were a solid grey, her lips slightly tinted with a pink shade.
A beeping noise she now heard behind her, she didn't turn because she recognised the sound.
"Kat, if you're using that thing to spy on me, you can just quit it." She then turned and to her surprise it was the Captain of the Amalthea Heavy Battleship. "I'm sorry sir." Kina's face turned a notch closer to the shade of her lips.
"Well I'll be darned if the Chief Mechanic uses my chair as a spying device now." Captain Gerald West chuckled, as he wheeled closer to Kina and the screen.
"Well, no sir, I'd be surprised if she did too..." Kina repeated. Kina's other way of acting, only when in front of an official. "What could I do for you sir?"
"Huh? Oh, yes, whenever I come upto someone it's because I want them to do something isn't it? Haha - - " the Captain coughed. "I'm getting too old."
"Sir, age is wisdom is it not?" Kina attempted to mean it.
"Yes, so much wisdom that it inflats my head to break my back and to know that you really didn't mean that." West replied.
"I do mean it, sir." Kina half panicked.
"I'm sure, I'm sure, but it's not that I'm here about. I'm here to talk to you as a representative from the colony and I as a failing captain seeking you help." West said humble.
"Sir?" Kina questioned.
"Well, you come here and you bear the Nihil Obstat Uniform, so you must have some idea about what's happened this past few years, about her commander have you not?"
"I don't know the story." Kina replied sincerely.
"Well then I'll tell you, so you know, and you can come to bear a understanding how important our actions are at times." West sighed and coughed again, this one lasting longer than the previous. His machine beeped a couple of times, and this seemed to calm him down. "Oh what pains age brings. Well then, best I start."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shopping/Recreation Centre ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You see, when you get past the earlier levels, the enemies will act quicker than you will. They're computers, so they do what they are programed to do," Midori continued to teach Elise about the game program. "So it'll probably know to attack first in this case and for this reason and in this time it's vulnerable."
"I don't get it." Elise was playing with the tips of her curly red hair as she listened.
"Well, it's that they don't know what a counter-attack is probably at this stage, she if you can counter or even predict it's next move, then you've beaten it."
"Oh." Elise had a look of comprehension on her face, however her freckles screwed up as she had another question. "How do I do that?"
"Umm... I don't know..." Midori didn't have an answer to that.
"How do you do it then?"
"..." Midori opened her mouth, however she couldn't say practice. Hell, it was hard to get by without people knowing you've been a pilot of something. She quickly thought of something else. "... I don't know, I just get a sudden feeling." which was not a complete lie, because she does get a sudden feeling about these things.
"That's odd." Elise was unsatisfied with Midori's answer.
"Well I think we should go, they'll be waiting." Midori urged Elise, for they were fifteen minutes late already, so they ran to they place that they'd arranged to meet, outside a clock store, reason being, even Midori would recognise the big clock when she saw it. It was the strangest store she'd ever seen. It's entire front was a giant clock, bronze paint with black handles that if you were unlucky, the second timer would hit you. Hard.
The pair arrived at the store.
"No-one here. We could've gone for another round!" Elise was disappointed. She sat down on a seat before the railing, looking to her side. After a while she spotted the rest of them. "Hey Midori, they're over there!" She pointed and turned to where Midori was. "Huh?" She'd gone. Elise muttered, "That girl's quick..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clock Shop, Same place a previous... ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midori was fascinated at the display of watches, from antique to modern. She'd dodged the pendulum to get in, but the array of this shop's collection was astounding. Before her was a silver black pocket watch, it was lined very finely with the staining. The one a few stops over was a goldern one, sparkling in the light. The erge to look at the flashing light in the corner of her eye took over and she looked out to her right side. A grand clock in the back, the light reflecting off some spot lights. Somehow, she couldn't resist but go look at it. It drove her before the tall contraption.
The grand clock was not fascinating in itself, the wooden shell had many flaws due to ill care, even the front pane was cracked. Dust had eaten into the insides, and even one of it's number were missing. It was a strange yet perfectly engaging clock.
"It's fascinating isn't it?" a male voice asked from over her shoulder.
"Indeed, it's stunning." Midori replied. The voice of the man behind her gave her a comfort she needed not look. "Is it ok if I felt it?" Another erge to reach out and feel the wood it was carved from.
"Of course dear, I don't think you will break it." he replied with his mystic voice. "Let's see..." he trailed off.
Midori reached her tips out to it. The glass on it was stained, although smudged by what looked like a print or something. She pushed her hand against the glass pane at it's front, although half expecting for the pane to give way. The pendulum swung past, it made her fingers tingle. For a moment, it seemed to sparkle. As it passed her hand. "What is it...?" It struck her as odd.
"It's a clock that age seemed to have not destroyed. Resiliant as they say. Just like yourself, miss." that same man still spoke to her.
"Wha..." Midori turned, her voice draining.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unknown field ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The field was green, and lush as it always was. The air was pure, and smelt fresh, while the sky was pure with blue and white spread. She was standing in the middle of the field, the star brilliant in the sky. Midori looked around, and jumped. It was a strange feeling. Being there. Being able to move there. A change from usual.
"Hello Ms Midori." the voice of the lady greeted her.
"... he... llo...?" Midori tried to speak, but the word was fragmented, as though it was hard to speak, as how a child might.
"Yes Midori, it's ok, it's better now." she said again in her warm tone. The sun bathed her. It was comforting as well as relaxing.
"... aye..." Midori struggled with words. She jumped at the butterfly, but it flew through her hand. "... oh...?"
"You cannot truly be here yet, there is task you must do, to find home." the voice seemed to flinch a little. "Even if you may have found a home, it will be short lived. You must fly. You must have your wings."
"... why...?"
"It must be done." the voice concluded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space, Blue Valiance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, she has to be guarded?" Kina asked with hidden interest.
"She needs to be looked after, that is why we are." The Captain replied her. "She also needs to be protected where she may be required to go. Even if it was to Earth." his voice was grave, with much pain in mentioning it.
"Is she so important?"
"If we want to find somewhere to retreat to, yes. There are rumours among the starts of hidden colonies, due to the wars of the past few centuries. And such wars had been disasterous for the individual colonies. Some threw their orbital path outwards and away. We don't know whether they'll be out there, but there is a change, but only if she survives."
"Why is she so important?" Kina was a little impatient with the old man, she sympathised with him but she'd asked the question a few times over the past half an hour.
"Oh, she may be a key to those outlying colonies. They- -" he was interrupted.
"No, I ask you, why must she survive, why?" Kina demanded of him an answer that he didn't want to give. Most would have accepted the answer.
"You must know." the captain looked away, his wheelchair turned in a low hiss. "Then I shall tell you." He took a breath to confirm himself, and muttered for forgiveness for telling another soul that may be important, for Kina was to become important to this also in future. "The girl is our hope. She is capable of holding everyone who believes and bring more to believe and so we may begin our search. With more people allows us to discover more of space outside the current paths of existance. The girl may become a Saint. The one we may bring people togethter with. You have heard about her time before now have you not?"
"No... Only that death is a common fashion to those around her."
"They would've died anyway. All this meaningless fighting in space recently have taken many lives. All of them for no real reason. But if we maintain this will it will have a reason."
"I think I understand you. But I won't follow the idea that people die for nothing."
"You witnessed the death of Ser DeGui Hirsm did you not?" the Captain reminded her of his death. Within the claws of the Scorpio.
"Yes."
"His death was a waste was it not?"
"Yes..."
"But he did have a reason did he not?"
"N-... I don't know."
"His death was a waste, but it's reason was to open her mind. She would be nothing without the dreams and nightmares of it all."
"That's cruel. It's sadistic."
"It a reality she must live if she must speak with passion."
"Are you saying all that happens to her now is to mould her into a person for the future?"
"Possible. At least this way she won't be another waste."
"But--"
"Lieutenant. You are to goto the briefing room. You are needed."
"But--"
"Go lieutenant."
"..."
The wheelchair rolled out. Kina was alone again. Silently angry at them.

"Midori!"
She looked over her shoulder.
"Where were you? We were looking all over!" Saree was worried.
"I'm sorry, I just felt like looking." Midori was kind of embarrassed.
"Next time tell someone before you wander off like that ok?" Mika told her.
"Ok." Midori assured them.
"Come on, let's go." Mika told them. They slipped through the pendulum again. Midori weary after that vision. The Lady was strange to her today. It was not right.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space, Far Beyond the Colony ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A fleet of ten ships lined up with one another, escorted by Black Leos, Taurus' and a few Virgos. They were painted black, but it was still visible in their reflective sheen off the outer armor.
"Speed it up! We've got an hour left." called the lead Rewloola ship. "Start the count down until launch."
"Starting!" called out the next ship and was soon echoed by the rest of the fleet. Soon they'd be ready for their offensive.
Half a patrol returned, the Leos seemed badly beaten, but still were able to move.
"What the hell happened patrol?" the commander demanded over the comm.
"We were cut up pretty bad out there. It was a patrol group from the colonies, we managed ... c ... do anything about ... they know."
"What was that? Repeat the last part Patrol!"
"We got most of them, but the rest of them got away..." the Leo suddenly exploded, the pieces flew ourwards taking out the rest of his group. The debris drifted toward the ship.
The Admiral of the fleet called over to gunnery control. "Shoot the debris before it gets to up." he turned to the communications. "Advance the schedule half an hour, but then the fighter should only have gotten back. I doubt they even know we're here."
- - -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Far away, heading toward the colony from Patrol (T minus 28 minutes) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A pair of Black Taurus' engaged a pair of colony Taurus'. The Black Taurus' were out of date, but still barked like mad at their enemy. The colony Taurus' were cheaply made so this fight was fairly even.
Inside one of the Gray Taurus' the pilot called over his comm. "Pilots, spread and fire. Try and keep them from Lascelles."
"Roger." replied his fellow pilots. A Taurus without an arm evade the attacks from the Black Taurus. The pilot releasing a flare, the sky lit up with the enemie's now blinded by the sudden attack.
"Lascelles! Respond!" the commander of the group called out.
"Sir!" the pilot answered, in a half whisper.
"Take news back about the fleet possible back to the colony." he barked.
"Yes sir." the pilot continued her half whisper.
She increased the output on the Verniers of the Taurus, sending it at a higher speed toward the colony. She nimbly dodged a spray of fire from the enemy, spinning but was hit in the other arm this time then transforming the now armless Taurus into fighter mode and speeding off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Midori's Colony Apartment (T minus 24 minutes) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She moved to the door with intention of going somewhere. She'd suddenly felt like going outside somewhere. It was not she had some need or affination, it was that she needed to go and this desire was extremely odd. She thought about everything else she might've done, but it was against her.
Leaving the appartment, it was a task to turn and close the door. But reason enough allowed her to do so. She muttered something, but it was late night. It wouldn't matter if she was in just track pants and a t-shirt. No-one would see her.
- - -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blue Valiance, Space. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Captain." the Lieutenant addressed the superior. She'd just arrived at his office, awaiting for him to turn to her.
"Lieutenant." replied the older man. He was on his final days on the ship. The life support that they mounted to his wheelchair and also kept him alive now making it sure that he would soon be removed from his office.
"You wanted to see me?" she asked. Her face was straight. She didn't like the man for his values and his reasons. Her ideals were different.
"Yes. I did." he replied. He was silent. As was she. This lingered for almost a minute, the silence only being intruded upon by the gasps of the life support machine that purified the air completely and the humming of the ships workings. He shifted his head toward the side. "You will find my successor, more appealing to you." he felt like chukling but refrained since it's only make matters worse. "He has a mind like mine, but a heart more kind and less travelled."
"Why do you tell me this?" she asked him. He was silent for another moment.
"Why did I tell you the story, for a dying man needs no enemies, why would I share my mind with you?" he asked her in reply. The man though old, was sharper than any other blade in the drawer.
"..." Kina remained her silence. "A man who needs no enemies might not need allies either and so can be more blunt." she replied after a moment of thought.
"Then you will be one of the living and so need allies so that you may make enemies. It is how you will live." he told her. "The Captain is Jonathan Stevenson. His crew are the greens from the Gray's academy, but I went to special liberties to have them serve under the title Nihil Obstat, for effectively they are Nihil Obstat. We trained them. The Gray finished them. Now you have them, with Captain Stevenson of course, but they will be under your command and especially her." he turned to face her. His face was ever more pale and a growing green on the patch above his eye.
"Sir." she hid her repulsion. She looked away for a brief second attempting to regain her thoughts. Looking him in the eye when it had been gathered. "What is it you want of me...?" she asked him. For sure this man was right. He did not tell her his story so she would hate him but rather that she would understand for no-one would got the other way.
"Take care of them. Like I said. My crew is being replaced. The ship is being refitted. I just want you to understand the story and help them keep faith." he smiled as much as crooked face would allow, before continuing, "And also... dear Miss. Keep her well." he turned away now.
"..." Kina had nothing to say. It was a dying man's wish. "Yes sir. Anything else."
"..." the man sat there. he just did, and stared at the stars. "..." he did not say a word. His final orders were issued, his final strength and will pointed their direction to the colony. For a battle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space Port to Colony (T minus 10 minutes) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The armless Taurus landed. The pressure jets released as the pilot jumped out, one of the technical staff helped her down, and the woman spoke to the technician in a soft voice, but her heard her first time. She pushed off the deck and catwalk to the control center. She slid gracefully through the door and pulled off her helmet. Her light blonde hair was pulled into the back of her jumpsuit.
She spoke in a half whispered to the commander. He looked at her but then understood.
He called over the controls. "All available pilots to the flight deck. Repeat..." he repeated his message. The pilot slide out of the room as quietly as she'd entered.
- - -
Midori stepped through the gates to the port. Her security pass allowed her access to the mech bays. She now was able to float around. Kicking off, she knew when she got there when she needed to move.
It was another odd feeling. A strange reminiscence. These corridors. Like back on Mars when she was led to the shelters. She'd found her calling to a beast then. The beast that would bind her. The lighting was similar, the red alert status giving the corridors that eerie glow of red. 'How it was dark.' she thought. It's just the same. Passing another corridor she collided with a woman.
They floated a little while. She'd caught her as though she'd expected Midori to come around the corner at that time. A silent voice pressed against her ear. And she felt lips on her cheek before the woman pushed her in another direction as she passed another way. Midori pondered about that strange occurance. 'What oddities?' her mind tormented with the strange actions of recent. It wasn't for her. It was too free. 'No.' she thought. 'I will not.' Her foot slid against the ground as the red lights went out.
She took a breath. Looking over her shoulder. The green glow of the outline of an Evangelion. "What the...?" she gasped. It was a horrible jagged machine. It was horrible, it's armor jagged, yet had a fitting look. It's wings were demonic, and so was it's face. Three jewels, yet two eyes. 'Unaware...' she thought.
Although the machine beast was strange she drifted to it. She slid against it to the entry plug. The plug ejected. Like last time. "Preventer..." she whispered. This was a different machine, but of design for her. The plug opened and she entered. It closed and pulled her in.
She slid on the plug suit in the dark before the machine activated. The compulsion to take it's handle overtook her. She gripped it. And as though a surge of electricity was shot through her, she jumped back. "Oww..." she gripped it again. The charge attempted again at her, but she held on. "You aren't going to beat me." she whispered harshly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space Outside Colony (T Plus 1 minute) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This is too easy!" the pilot of the Black Taurus called out. His team mates whole heartedly agreed. They fired cannons blasting holes all over the place, while the Leos defended the few suits that got through the Virgo and Taurus screens. It wasn't a pretty fights. Green chunks of colony defenders scattered the area, a very small number of black pieces floating into the depths of space.
"Don't get cocky boys! There's still the ships that are already on route to worry about. Remember tell them when you see something odd!" one of the leader pilots called out.
"Yes sir!" all the pilots replied. One of them stuttered abit.
"S-- sir?" he called over the comm. as he approached his target.
"What is it pilot?" the leader replied with annoyance. It seemed this pilot was one of those whom one would be easily irritated with for his lack of common sense.
"Uhh. Would dat big thing with neon green count?" he replied, beginning shooting hopelessly at the target. The projectives bouncing of an invisible screen.
"What?!" the leader was increasingly agitated for the description he got. "Don't give me that crap and tell me what you see understand soldier!!!"
"..." there was no reply.
"Don't you ignore me! Damn it! Answer pilot!!!" the leader gunned down another Leo.
"..." still no reply.
"You imbiscile, don't you contact me again unless it's important." he turned and fired at the blip on his radar. Suddenly something black and jagged came right at him, crashing into the suit's chest killing the pilot on impact.
The remains of the enemy's Taurus proven a more effective weapon than anything else she might've had on the suit for the moment. Dragged into a fight, when her intention was to steer clear of such, she had no choice now. The Evangelion was testing her moves. It was a beast, but it was great. A trio of Taurus came down upon her from above. The only way to dodge the shots was to go down, it made contact with the colony, and returned with all it's force to smash itself into the Taurus. The black beast kicked off again the piece of the Taurus into the other with a jagged fist running a path into the cockpit of the suit. Virgo IIs with their PDs came in off the port. The Wing Thrusts stabilised her position allowing her to fire it's Megasonic Cannon off it's left shoulder. The suit again disappeared into the dark, the neon lights being conceiled in the Active Cloaking System.
"Report Squadrons." ordered the commander from his bridge. Most reported unusual activity around the port. Mostly because they were being attack from some of the strangest suits around. One of the pilots even reported an angel however that was dismissed immediately. But of course, there was a demon on the field. The commander looked at his captain. A man in a cloak. The cloaked man nodded. The commander barked orders. "Launch the specials. Order the reinforcements. We'll have this colony returned!" the man on the bridge all roared with agreement.
Meanwhile, the frontline was slowly crumbling away as it seemed a ghost was picking them off. The last thing the pilots usually saw was a black piece of Taurus. All their own. All aimed for them. While inside the colony port, they prepared for launching of their forces. The enemies were expected so it wasn't really easy for them to take the port. However the final guarding Leo was destroyed in a barage of Beam Rifle fire. The pilots of the Black Taurus' took pride in being the group to gain first entry to the colony. Or they would have. They were blown out of the way, as the gates opened, a Deep Blue Pantserzorene firing it's Beam Rifles at maximum force and rate, the Taurus standing little chance in such a barrage. It was then followed by a White Gold Gundam, being pulled from the fighter. The cable was released after they'd escaped the confinement of the Port. They were followed by another few squadrons of Leos. In the distance a Pegasus from the colony defenders arrived, releasing another group of Leos. They converged upon the five main ships with their leader ship a Rewloola class. The ships had stopped releasing their fighters.
'Is that all...' Midori asked herself.
'No... You must see... I must see...' a voice spoke to her.
She frowned. 'Must you see. Why should I allow you to see?' but she guessed his reply.
'It must be.'
- - -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Unknown Field ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'A world created in your own mind.' the voice spoke. It was indescribable. It was cold yet warm, full of tone without tone. A voice of nothing she would able to describe for much long yet to come. It was a voice. The voice from this beast.
'If is a world... but not of my creation.' she replied to him.
'It is of your mind. How did you not create it.'
'Another did.'
'Oh...' he replied as though it had read her mind. She actual believed that was what it was doing. 'You are new to me... not like the others.'
'Others?' Midori did not know his meaning.
'The violent others? The ones not so pure? Another that cannot come to me? Many other incalculable numbers of others?' he pondered. 'Not really. They could not.'
Midori had no idea about what he was saying. However it seemed that she was not his first pilot. Or attempted pilot.
'... You will need to fight again... with me... to find your home...' he said as though defragmenting a message. '... she asked me... I understand...'
'What...?' Midori was taken from the field and was reminded of the blood again. The foul stench and taste of blood.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Space Outside Colony ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ships launched a counter-attack. As soon as the fighters approaching were in range, it opened all it's turrets and hatches and launchers letting fly beam and missile and bullet in all directions. From colonial rear, some ships entered the area. After decimating the reserve force from the Pegasus, Evangelions launched from the reservist forces. Jegans and Black Taurus'. Ten ships total now. It seemed as though a couple of Scorpios had found themselves in the area. It wasn't looking good.
Midori was at the colony. She saw all that was going on as though she were just a fly observing the happenings. Some of the Taurus arrived at the colony and were proceding to enter. She jumped in time, engaging her thrusters to meet them half-way. She ran her fist into the suit. Spinning again to smash the Taurus with her other fist into the next Taurus the last one tasting the Vulcans before erupting. She then disappeared from sight and became as black as night.
Three Rewloola class ships entered the scene, carrying Shadow Hawks which filled the space with missiles and gunfire in no time. From which there was a single red orange Serpent flaming away. The advantage the Shadow Hawks had over the Taurus was amazing. The fighters went somewhat unseen until the last minute, their design making it harder to detect in the area.
"Are we too late?!" Kina called over the comm channel. She had a playful zest in her voice as she switched aside her Tall Shield unleashing the flames that awaited behind. It was a well practised technique, the enemy comes and shoots, they hit the shield, then as they try and get another shot it, they're melted away.
"This isn't good..." one of the pilots called out to her. The Shadow Hawks were being blinded by flares launched from the ships. "... we can't see..."
Midori couldn't join the battle just yet. There was something yet to come. The Evangelions swooped upon the colony port entrance. Just in front of where she was. She decided to quickly and quietly dispatch them. Opening the claw-like hand she ran it through the Eva's head stripping the armor and crushing the upper neck. Knocking it aside, her AT Field not even resisted by the next Eva, which was soon smashed in the face by the jagged palm of Midori's Eva. Then it was smashed across by a Katar from the slot at the waist severing the head. She disappeared again into the darkness. This time heading for a her prize. The rather extravagent Scorpio. The leader's favourite. She clawed through another Taurus, having spotted her climb to the ships. Smashing with the back of the fist on her way past.
"Scorpio Leader." she yelled out to it. A dramatic entrance and extravagant duel it was to be.
"Ah... the Green Black Eva... I've not seen you in a long time." A dark voice talked to her. It was that of the one she thought she'd bested and she truly had but witnessed by no-one. Lord Savoy.
"Savoy." she gasped. The name seemed like acid on her tongue.
"Thought I was dead?"
"Yes..." she replied to him, the two suits faced off. "How...?"
"The debris field and my final line. The distraction. But I escaped. I'm not fool. I dare not fight you head to head in a Taurus. Now you try me."
"Ms Midori!" called a voice from afar. The comm a little distorted. "What are you doing here???" It was Kina. "You're supposed to be in the colony!"
"I'm here so they aren't in the colony." Midori replied by impulse, like it was an order from above, or another, she was just the puppet in between. She opened her comm to the leader of the attack Lord Savoy. "You come to claim the colony, yes?"
"It's how I planned it." he said wth a jest, as though he found her amusing. "A little girl should not be on a battlefield."
"How I agree..." Kina muttered in the background. The Black Eva turned to her slightly. "What?" Kina shrugged, frying a Taurus that was shooting at square center of her shield.
Midori turned the Eva back. She lunged. The coarse black edges of the Eva's fist dug into the shield. She drew back a hand and smashed into it. The left shield corrupting under the fist. The Scorpio punched her away. Firing one of it's Newports which Kina and herself narrowly avoided. Kina flew away to a safe distance, supporting raiders on the ships by drawing fire.
Savoy fired his other Newport the AT Field taking the damage.
"What you said before about leading a good fight..." Midori started, retrieving her I-Beam Sword from the waist holster. "Did you mean it?" she same in and pryed the other shield from it's arms. The Scorpio knockin her off with a clumsy swing. The shield went with her.
"Damn girl, you have been practising haven't you." Savoy ignored her question. "Take this!" He fired another Newport, this one ripping into space just missing the colony.
"God dammit you aren't here to hit the colony you want back!" Midori blocking the next shot from his Newports with the AT Field which gave way. "Do you fight the good fight?"
"If you get out of my way I won't hurt you. Now please, will you give up. You can live." he tried another bargaining tactic. He unfortunately let another Newport off too early for her to decide, this one she blocked with her Arm Block, the AT field giving way.
"No." the next Newport slamming into her as she defied his order. The Arm Blocks were of little use, giving away with the blast. The Jagged spikes of the arm taking the full brunt of the attack. "Argh!" she screamed, gritting her teeth as the pain shot through. The system emulated the pain, all in response to the action.
"Midori!" called out Kina, who came to defence with her Flamethrowers flaring away at the Scorpio, who retreated a short distance.
"No Lieutenant Sato. You won't scare me." Savoy said coldly and fired his Newport cannon. the blast heading in their directions, was quickly rammed out of the way by a Pantserzorene.
"Oh my you need help!" the pilot chuckled. "I've got missiles a plentay!" he let loose all his Micro missiles as he sprinted away, turning to cover fire with his beam rifles. The Scorpio shielding itself as a Gundam came in from behind, whipping it's Heat Rod, slashing at the back of the Scorpio which reponded with a claw flipping backwards, firing it's Newport Cannon. The pilot of the Gold and White Gundam evaded the shot. Moving to the machine's right lashing the arm damaging one of he cannons.
Midori was in a rush of mind. Her heartbeat was rapid and breathing erratic. It was a shock to the system. Her Eva was lifeless, as though it's soul had forgotten there was a fight. She expected it to roar. To fight. But today there was to be none of that. It was still. There was to be no fight. Less a final assault.

White Rose.
- - - - -
The battle raged on, as Midori sat in her Eva, awaiting for it to be over. There was to be no fight from her as she couldn't fight now. Her arms were severed. The damage from the Scorpios Newports on her escape made too much pain for her to fight on. It hurt, but more than that it filled her with fear and horror. She had no feeling in her arms, it was as though they were dead, even if she could still move them, the movement was limited. 'What was this...' she thought. This eva was truly a beast if there was ever one so gastly. She felt it's inclination to returing to the fight although it's lost it's arms. However there was a weapon that remained. For the final assault that she must take later on.

Elsewhere, the Silver Gold Gundam continued darting around the battlefield. The edges of the Heat Rod scarring it's enemies, enough for the Pantserzorene to destroy them in the after fact.
"Gundam Pilot! I never got your name!" Devlin called out, he continued to shoot his beam rifles at the Leos from the enemy force. "I like your style, eloquently done, with disabling finesse." he suspected a her.
"..." there was no reply as the pilot fo the Silver Gold Gundam, who continued to slash at the Leos that she came across. She'd her hair sleeked back as gold as the gundam she'd piloted. A calm face that faced every challenge with a clean slash across.
"No reply, I'll just keep following you!" Devlin laughed as he switched to Gerwalk mode spinning around firing hit rifles at anything that she left.

"You have nowhere to hide! I shall triumph!" Savoy yelled proudly over open comm channel. Firing his Newport at the the Shadow Hawks that passed him by. "You have no chance!" A couple of missiles bouncing off his Planet Defensors. "NO CHANCE!" firing the Newports towards a wing of Shadow Hawks wiping them clean only one barely escaping to be shot down by a Taurus awaiting to clean up.

"You are the Serpentess of Flame! and I've got the fire that you desire, haha!" the quick supply craft met her halfway quickly loading and updating the field. They were clear of the front line, without wasting space for the other suits to refuel. "You've got to get Ms. Midori back here, from the data we received she's in a pretty bad way."
"I know, but the problem is finding her. That new Eva that she showed up in hides too well."
"Yeah, I'll say, we didn't even see it until that Scorpio showed up. That suit had an ID signal that confused us." said the refuel pilot as he changed cartridges in the Flamethrowers.
"Why was that?" she asked as she reconfigured the controls.
"Well it was recently registered to Ser DeGui Hirsm." the pilot told her incrediously.
"But..." she stoped the configurations. "Isn't he dead."
"I know, but the tag..." the refueler craft disconnected as enemies swooped to fire. Kina lived up to her reputation in hotting up the area around their rendevous point.

Midori sat in the pilot seat. She raised her hands to her face, feeling the hand with her face, she occassionally feeling a wave from a destroyed machine. Her hands were soft but cold, barely being able to move them. Anchoring her shoulder around, she slip the hand up her arm, the arms were bare, she rejected the outer skin that covered her.
The limbs were there, but there was little feeling. Slowly it might've been returning. But then she slip her hand down further feeling that the response declined just over her elbow. Breathing in an out she felt the surrounding familiar. Yet not so. It was warm yet it was cold, not allowing her much more past the surface than it wanted to go.
Another shockwave rocked the plug, and she was pulled from the feeling, again left in the cold blood-drenched filth that was in the entry plug, keeping her alive. A sick reminder that she was still alive.

"What's happening out there?" Deena asked Mika who was watching the screen as the broadcast of the battle beyond their colony took place.
"They're fighting, there's alot of explosions." Mika almost looked as scared as Deena.
"But there's no sound." Deena noted.
"It's a space battle, no medium for the sound to travel." Mika replied as she moved to turn it off.
"I forgot about that, those animes aren't realistic are they." Deena noted.
"What are you talking about? We have to go find a shelter if the light goes red." she looked upto the yellow light, which indicated that they were to remain calm and prepare for evacuation. There was a buzz as the light clanked off and the red cranked on.
"Time to go." Deena told her, as they carried their small backpacks out the door of their shared apartment.

"What's going on..." Saree blinked at the red light. "Oh... seriously..." she moved from her bed. "An evacuation? Ah...!" she picked up the bag that she'd packed in case of the emergency need be. "Kina... hurry up and kick their asses already..." she mumbled as she pulled over a jacket her sister had lying around the apartment.

"Argh bastard!" she screamed a complaint at the Taurus pilot whom soon was engulfed in flame as he blew off one of her shields. He them exploded, sending a piece of himself into her suit, blowing the torso out of place. "Not good..." she muttered as she escaped back to the ship.
A pair of enemy Taurus' locked on her tail, firing their rifles with little care for the power guages.
Another hit, then another, losing the shield and most of the fight arm in the process, she escaped by dropping a mined decoy, which caught them offguard, them colliding and sending them to hell.

The Pantserzorene stopped right behind the silver gold Gundam Mark II. The pilot of the Gundam knowing what she was doing, but Devlin Russell having no idea what he was doing there. He simply fired on the enemies that showed themselves. The two suits were under the enemy's capital ship the Black Rewloola class ship. The Gundam Pilot made a fancy movement with her weapon finishing. The Heat Rod completely straight in front of her. She lunged the weapon into the ship. Prying into the ship. She ripped into the plating. Pulling from the shoulder compartment a small package, placing it in just as a juggernaut of a suit, the Scorpio appeared.
"Oh shit." Devlin choked in his chuckle of realising of his mysterious leader's intentions. "You might wanna hurry up!"
She kicked him right into the Scorpio. Who didn't expect such and blocked up with his shield, to which she came around the side and tore into it with the Heat Rod hitting the engine sending the suit redline which only added to the explosion after the leader Rewloola ship gave way, after she'd cleared the are with her sidekick for the battle today.

"Find me something quick!" Kina yelled over the comm as she came into land aboard the Amalthea as it fired it cannons on the oncoming attackers.
"Yeah yea, we go you the first time!" Kat called out to her, finishing up some changes she made to the Shadowhawk that'd come to land. "There's another Serpent in storage. But it'll be about five minutes till it's on the deck."
"Make it quicker." Kina yelled.
"Don't get your panties in a bind! Geez... I'll have it in three at the earliest, ok?" Kat shook her head and hit over comm. "Move that Shadowhawk outta here now! We gotta Serpent we gotta pull out of storage for frontlines. We need it in three minutes so only level one checks we don't have time for two, three and four. Got it!"
"Yes ma'am!" the mechanic team called back at her.
"Very good boys, if you speed it up Miss Kina will offer you a treat when she gets back." Kat smiled at Kina who simply muttered some very nasty comments at her. "You wanted quick!" she continued her smile and Kina glared, with come sort of undertone that would make any between them collapse due to the tension between them.
Under two and a half minutes they pieced together the main components of the Serpent, of course some ShadowHawks were turned away in the action, the queue only mounting.
"Well Miz Serpentess of Flame, your Serpent is made and my men are expecting a treat, come back alive will you dear, and make sure you bring back enough parts to sell so you can afford enough treats for them all." Kina smiled again. Her face changed again as she turned to her crew. "BACK TO WORK! WE'VE GOT SHADOWHAWKS TO REFILL NOW MOVE~!"

Midori breathed. The natural motion, but she also knew the LCL fluid also oxygenated her blood directly. The fact was no comfort. She looked on the screen. It appeared the enemy leader ship was heavily damaged, explosions breaching in and around the hull. It wasn't the greatest scene, but it indicated that there was some merit in the forces against her enemy.
Her enemy that day was Savoy. He was a constant pain, with much to him, being the one who destroys, he doesn't know what he wants. One day it's the colony, the next revenge, and the other it's just to kill. What was he doing? She had to remove him from the game. For to him it was a game. She had to send him home, battered, and beaten. His pride needed to be broken and the spirit of his men ceased.
She spotted that Scorpio. Battling a lone suit. The Serpent. Not the usual design, nor was it Kina's. It was just one in the field. But the suit was rather quick dodging the attacks of the enemy then firing at the Scorpio. It fired a load of missiles from it's shoulder launcher heavily damaging the face and upper chest of the Scorpio from it's range. It suddenly changed flight and headed in her direction. It was impossible that he knew where she was, but the definate movement was worrying. No time to think, the beast moved into an upright position facing the incoming Scorpio. The Serpent flew towards it. It too didn't know the peril that lay before it, the Scorpio turning away. It hadn't seen the Beast as such but rather was escaping. It's main scanners were dead most likely. Yet she couldn't stop. It was now. The Active Cloak lifted, the right shoulder of the beast ejected a plate, a rose of white emerging from the Black Eva. It opened up, and the energy build up suggested it was charging. Midori looked, and felt a tingle on her shoulder. It made her anxious, but in a way it made her feel an excitement of sorts. It was a tingle that was like an insistant desire that was soon to be fulfilled. It was not her emotions, she didn't like the killing, but now it seemed not to show, a smile filling her face. Her heart began to race and the smell of blood and numbness in her arms were gone with this feeling. It began to peak as she felt like stetching in her shoulder, a yearn, a desire.
Fulfilment... He was satisfied...
The blast from the shoulder was let loose, the petals breaking, the core exposed. The blast from the cannon tearing against the the fabric of the machine, eating away at it, sending it to hell in a blared sound, a hiss of a high frequency signal could be picked up on the battlefield. It was the sound that effectively ended the battle, and left Midori in tears yet again. Her blast, destroying another. She'd recognised the Serpent from the after transmissions. Kina Sato.
Such elation in his first revenge... there was soon to be others...

'For killing me... Savoy. I take you...' he jested in his new host.

Ok let's try the Original Kyriake Nagari up here...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Character
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Character name: Kyriake Nagari
Characters age: 17
Nationality: Japanese
Group: The Order
Hair: Brown to amber (base black), long (waist length) almost straight hair held back with a hairband
Eyes: Green to grey (depending upon her mood and sometimes yellow?)
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 119lb
Features: Blanched white skin, and a slight unseen muscular/tendon irregularity which makes her seem more "bouncy" when she walks. Mostly passed off as cute, it prevents her from being able to fully stand on her two feet properly. (she can't kick properly) Breast size? Let's say... unobtrusive yet not unnoticeable. Needs filtered glasses in direct sunlight.
Blood Type: A
Place of Birth: Beyond Jupiter space.
Date of Birth: 25 / 07 / A.I. 212
Family status : Parents back on Skye (colony) beyond Jupiter with brother Ari. Most are on Skye.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PERSONALITY
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General: Kyriake has a generally a black and white fashion sense, either wearing too much of one or the other, with more subtle colours to contrast such as maroon with black or baby blue with the white. More suited to long coats with long pants and a skivvy all over a thermal suit.
She sports an open and outgoing atttude, yet has a tendency to like smacking people over the head with any small handheld object available (eg. books, fans, mallets etc.) for making stupid comments or just being plain annoying.
Her favourite past time has been to just to lounge around playing video games with her brother back when there was time, but lately she's been more preoccupied with her chosen career path in becoming a good enough soldier for the Order and their work, since they only took the best. But otherwise the music and gym is where she'd be.
Her music list is anything recent and some ages classics, she enjoys mixing them into new tracks that assist in her art. At the gym, is where her art lies. She's always been good at it, one of the things that keeps her sharp. It allows her to work out in zero-gravity and maintain good muscle tone (enough to live on relatively close to normal gravity).
Likes: Furry creatures, small reptiles, flowers, tea, winning arguments, big robots
Dislikes: Coffee, thick-headed people, mess, losing arguments
Special (insanities?): Mushrooms send her into a spin after consumption. Mess drives her nuts - - clean freak? If she falls into one of her moods, and or nothing seems to be going her way she'll burst into a whole range of emotions from screaming to crying, to laughing for absolutely no reason. This may also lead her to recklessness on occasion either brooding for better opponents or become obsessed for a time with defeating everyone else.
Skills of note: Master at the music mixer table, undefeated in the gymnastic routines, self proclaimed no#1 tea maker, gardening, damn good talker - - people listen!
Lack of skills of note: The skill of using a personal computer without having it explode. Anything larger than a pistol for a weapon tends to be too too heavy and murder to the wrists as well as the recoil being a pain.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backstory
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History: Born on Skye one of the surviving old generation colonies not destroyed in the wars but thought lost when a survey fleet came through and saw colony debris at it's position in the twentythird century. Little was known about it's disappearance, and those that did know that it still existed either were kept quiet or weren't given sufficient chance to speak to anyone that mattered.
Kyriake grew up a relatively stable life. The colony of Skye being much a place too distant for the war to touch much upon. Her ancestral lines lead back to Ms Midori of the Jupiter colonies who ended up drifting in a life capsule after the dreadful Dawn of the Third Age of man. She was picked up and found her home here away from the wars that left her with the marks of one with much to be forgotten.
Kyriake's brother was born five years after her and they were close enough for family, and they are happy. Her parents have been successful in their work, her father an engineer working with the mining teams that come and go so they could continue to make improvements upon the colony, and her mother a planner of the colony.
On the year her father went back to work when she was six, she began to wonder about some things she could do that would make her stand out. So her mother took her to a number of different groups. She was never good at any of those except for the single thing that had taken her in. Gymnastics. An art in itself.
She picked it up quickly, and became rather good, the irregularity in her feet actually working to her advantage her, giving her a keen sense of balance and limits she could handle in the sport. It also extended her personal limits, training and discipline required to do the art perfectly. Her motion became endless fluid and she was to become a star.
Her schooling life was fairly average, her academic achievements were exceptional, however she never really excelled to the fullest in her schooling career. It seemed she was just biding her time for something to happen.
In her early mid-teens she reportedly had strange blackouts followed by dreams, dreams of another place much like the archives on Earth, but after a while she says they stopped coming although she never did talk about them.
Since that time, she's been interested in the work carried out by The Order in terms of their actions and something seemed to go on that no-one save a few was aware of in her mind. Like a manifest that was coming to full cycle. Subconsciously there was an urge to go beyond Skye and visit the stars, like some restlessness inside of her.
An age old longing for nothing but the stars as her guide and companion, strange matter is that she's never been beyond Skye. Her academic work suddenly gaining high awards and much attention so much to even gain the attention of The Order's recruiters without having to raise a single finger.
Her gymnastics had been really a second nature by now, the fluidness of it all had collected her. Although selected for the zone finals she decided against competing, spending her time on academics. Still a star in her colony of her own right, she made a strange choice that none would understand too soon. She decided to join The Order.
Attitude: Forgets that a combat area is really about killing sometimes... Not too enthusiastic about killing but will do it. "The Way of the Order."
Weaknesses: Easily intimidated by other big mecha, and especially things that look to kill. Forgets to kill things sometimes, merely chasing it down then smashing it over the head with the butt end of the rifle instead of shooting it. Easily intimidated by big mecha. Fear of heights sonewhat. [As seen above with Insanities]
