Fire Emblem is an awesome game, not for everyone but great for those who like strategy and unpredictability. There are some great characters, and TONS of development.
But, what most people don't know, is that it's also an anime. ^_^" I have proof, I actually watched it during an anime club meeting. lol.
Set in "a time before time," FIRE EMBLEM chronicles the struggle of Prince Mars and his Aritian Knights as they fight to free his kingdom and the surrounding lands from the evil Durhuan forces. This title is based on the Nintendo game FIRE EMBLEM - SECRET OF CREST.
In a mythical land, an evil dragon has risen up to enslave the land. A young prince who's father was killed battling the forces of evil now leads a nomadic band of knights fighting to bring peace to the world.
In the first episode, we are introduced to the young prince, who's knights, after being driven from their homeland, have found refuge in a small but peaceful kingdom near the sea. The knights are planning to set sail for distant lands to continue their battle with the forces of evil, when the capital city of this country is attacked by an army of pirates. The prince rallies his troops immediately to the aid of the city, being beholden to its king and in love with his daughter. After protecting the city, the knights must leave immediately before word of their existence reaches the forces of evil, and they are joined by the prince's pegasus-riding love.
In part two, the knights arrive in a small seaside village captured by pirates. After quickly dispatching the ruffians, they learn that the town's patron priestess has been captured by bandits in the mountain. The priestess, meanwhile, attempts to escape, aided by a friend masquerading as a bandit. The escape is, however, ill fated, and, despite the help of a mysterious swordsman who wields two crimson blades and has just joined the ranks of the bandits, the priestess is recaptured. Her would be savior barely survives, and informs the coming group of knights of her whereabouts. With his help, the storm the bandits hideout and save the princess--aided again by the mysterious swordsman. Finally, with the bandits vanquished, it comes down to a showdown between the prince's best warrior and the mystery bandit--but are they really on opposing sides to begin with?
