It is not 100% confirmed... so it may not be true, however, It appears that Inuyasha the anime is coming to an end; ending at episode 167. Since the episodes are up to 163, there is only 4 episodes left. Many fans thought due to its popularity it would go for 300+ episodes.. The manga may also be coming to an end, but the ending may be different. Who knows? With 3 episode per DVD, we're looking at probably 53-54 DVD for the whole series. I donno if its a good thing or a bad thing that Inuyasha is ending.. since I wouldnt want it to drag on forever.. but I couldnt say, since I havent watched much episodes yet. What are your opinions?

ENDING? I didn't even know it was that close...I was pretty surd U.S. only showed about 60 to 70 episodes...but, i'M most likely wrong...But, even due to it's ending..if it is...at least they're having an inuyasha movie come out in english...dubbed though...obviously..

Considering how long the Hakureizan/Shichinintai story arc went, and how little was accomplished by the end of it, I must say I'm somewhat surprised. However, a show that goes on for too long simply gets boring/repetetive after a while, so it may be for the best....

I've seen the end of the Inuyasha anime and I have to say that I was dissappointed. I'm not going to spoil anything but I did wish that the anime still continued along with the manga.

aww.. really? I hope it actually "ends" and not left incomplete like Ranma1/2 (I heard) Cause then.. that's kinda pity; cause we're hoping something actually happens.

The last episode is a special... number 166-167. There is a definite "ending" feeling towards the end (how satisfying this is is left as an exercise for the reader ), but is not the end of the story... as they explicitely say, the manga will go on. Rather like Ranma that way.

Really? woohhooo! Glad to hear that jdeyke It'll take me a while to watch it though... since I've only got a few episodes (I'm collecting the manga- but I'm only up to Volume 18 - only that much is out so far in English)

167 episodes total? I was expecting much more...this anime does seem very popular, though I hope it doesn't drag on too much. I hope the shards would be all collected at least I'm guessing all 167 episodes is on the same quest (but that's just me since I'm still near the beginning of the story and still in season 1) cool It's gonna take me awhile to get there

I hope the shards would be all collected at least Well I gotta say they didnt collect all the shikon shards. It basically ends saying that they have to destroy Naraku and collect the shards. I really wished they showed it when Inuyasha kills Naraku and if Inuyasha gets together with Kagome or Kikyou. Edit: Added in spoilers sign...I read it >.<

XD I found this: March 9: From Shonen Sunday, vol 15 - Lots of people asking me about this. Here's the clip from Shounen Sunday where Rumiko Takahashi mentions "another 100 chapters of Inuyasha." Original message: Mina-sama no ouen no okage de, 400-kai o mukaeru koto ga dekimanutsa. Ki ga tsukeba ichi-ban nagai rensai desu ga, mada mada kakanakereba naranai episoddo ga takusan arimasu. Toriaezu rensai 500-kai mezanutse ganbarimasu! Translation: Because of everyone's support, I've reached the 400th chapter. Noticeably, this is my longest series but, there are still a number of episodes needing to be drawn. So for now, I'll keep my eyes set on the 500th chapter! Source: www.ear-tweak.com/index.htmI donno exactly how much is 500 chapters... (cause I purchase the English, and I donno if there's a same amount of chapters per manga) XD

Hmm... 400 chapters thats like more then double Sailor Moon. Chapters are the same in english and in japanese, so there was like what... 3-4 chapters in each Sailor Moon book?
(again... I could be way off)

Generally it's 10 chpaters per volume since each chapter tends to be about 20 pgs. So you usually get a book of 200-ish pages give or take. The Japanese and English releases are almost always parallel in terms of length too I'm guessing it save the US distibuter any hassle of reorganising stuff like cliffhangers.
