I remember reading about this somewhere a while back... some people have said it stands for Super Senshi (or Sailors / Scouts) but I think the real answer was that it didn't stand for anything... It is just a plural of 'Super...' You can tell when you watch it, the little ad-break bit in the middle (the eyecatch?) where there's an animation and the title comes up, they sing 'Sailor Moon SuperS' pronouncing it 'Supers' as normal...

ohhh..really? I thought that may be the case.. I remember ages ago I thought "Super S" stood for "Super Saturn" XD XD Only to find out Saturn isn't in Super S....

Well, the "official" word is it's basically Super Super. yes yes, it sounds goofy but that's pretty much it.
