CTS sorry, there's a little misunderstanding... I was referring to when Ceres kept being reborn in earlier Mikage girls and being "killed" by Mikage. Daaaaa thought that being killed meant she returned to heaven, but this doesn't make sense since she didn't have the mana. In the anime it shows her lieing next to a tree with her children (dieing without the mana), being forced to leave them behind- she'll eventually die in a period of time without the mana. At this point, it is not possible to believe that Ceres died and went to heaven... of course she does so in the end because she has the mana again. Most probably in the end, Ceres returned to heaven with the mana and that's it - the mana grants magically powers but Ceres wanted it mainly to return to heaven. ... It's explained in the anime, the 2 had a lovely relationship and Ceres didn't want to leave. However, in some sort of attack on the village, Mikagi is hurt and feels useless. He asks for power from Ceres' mana but it corrupts him as he is only mortal. After stealing her mana, Ceres wants to leave the corrupted Mikage.

Ending SPOILER continues**** I wasn't referring to this part. I was talking about the end. You know how Ceres asks him if he had loved her, and he said yes? Then.. why would she still want to use the mana to return to heaven?? It's mainly what you said here: At this point, it is not possible to believe that Ceres died and went to heaven... of course she does so in the end because she has the mana again.

I see... I guess Mikage was about to die so Ceres would go with him to heaven... then again Mikage died ages ago, so I guess his spirit/ghost remained. Now he can rest in peace so he and Ceres should be going to heaven together... I guess

I guess I guess.. but I dont think Mikagi would go to heaven, after all of his bad deeds... so I guess his soul could kind of rest in peace. So.. did Ceres leave for heavens at the end, or did she simply die along with Mikagi?

We'll never know that (unless it's in the manga) I'd like to think that it was a happy ending, and it wasn't Mikage's fault but the mana corrupted him... anyways I think we can assume that both will have left the mortal world for good.

Yeah I guess we could say that ^_^;; But she practically went through hell to get there... Go Aya! *spoiler* No more Tennyo power, no more killing of them.. But the Mikage family practically died... poor Aki He's the guy of the family, and he no longer lives.. their father was killed to save Aya... her mum is healing... but that's probably it. Pretty sad ending if you ask me... But then again, I always wondered how the ending would work out...at least it's an ok-happy-ish ending... oo... I wanted to let you guys know that I found it interesting how she actually drew the manga as she went. So she, herself didn't know what was going to happen, and where's its gonna head to She's really good at it, dont you think? I thought manga artists, would usually plan the whole thing first. I had Yuu Watase's note in the manga I bought, so that's where I found it ^_^

Because I missed out some episodes of Ayashi no Ceres ~ plus its been ages since I've watched it: how long does Shuro appear? I only remember seeing her in one episode, and really quick too... but I believe she appears for quite a while in the manga.. I'm wondering if it;s actually the same or not. I quite like Shuro in the manga ^_^ I mistakened her as a him...lol

Shuro (I feel like it's spelt abit different) only appears near the end in one episode - and the point is that she's disguising as a man. Other characters in the anime were also amazed to find out that Shuro was a lady. If Shuro is introduced near the beginning of the manga or comes back a few times then it's totally different to the anime. They probably thought she wasn't that main a character and so the anime only had her do what she did (better not tell you yet what it was ) which was probably the whole purpose of having her as a character in the story- then again I've never seen the manga

The part in the manga in which I saw her in, was Volume 7... which is roughly episode 21 in the anime.
(I donno when she comes into the manga, because I only have Vol 1,2,3 and then 7)
In Volume 7, she doesn't do much, except is a friend to Aya, motivating her, and also warning her of the dangers if Touya is to retrieve his memories: which is forgetting all about her....
I dont remember seeing Shuro in this part of the anime ~_~

I don't think Aya really knows Shuro in the anime... anyways there's something interesting I want to discuss about. It's the afterlife system of ANC. How does it work? When someone dies (like Ceres or her lover) they are reborn as someone new in a new life (like the girls of Mikage) but their old soul remains with all their memories in that body... the old soul is hidden away but can awaken... although only 1 soul is meant to command the body at one time, both can (eg. the spoiler with Aki and his past life separated near the ending) ...So, when someone dies they get another life but it's not that soul (the past life and 'now' are different) and if the past life doesn't awaken it's like they never have a new life... how does this work? (I know it's quite confusing and easierly to get lost so don't worry if you are

I just think it's strange how they reborn as another person within the same family blood-line.. How coincidental.. What you've said Belldandy, does make sense (when you read it twice lol) However, I don't think it's meant to be like that.. I believe Ceres has chosen to reborn in girls of the Mikage family because she died restlessly.. she has issues unresolved, and therefore- her soul remained to haunt the family. She was so strongly affected by the Hagaromo, and Mikagi, that she found it impossible to just rest like that. That is why she struggled to come out, and wanted to confront Mikagi to ask him once more.. But then.. I have no idea why Mikagi was reborn as Aki~ another coincidence? Since both Mikagi and Ceres finally had their misundertanding resolved (at the end), I don't think they will re-appear again.. It's not necessary... why would they?

*spoiler on Chidori* Who here likes Chidori? ^^ I think she's cute... and what happened to her was very sad... I mean, I've always been a Yuuhi x Aya supporter.. but Yuuhi deserves better... since Aya doesnt exactly show her love in return. It's a similar case with Yuuhi and Chidori.. I think Chidori deserved so much more..especially from Yuuhi. Kinda feel sorry for the both of them. I bet Yuuhi regretted that he kept being so mean to her.
