Ranma 1/2 is a hilarious anime series about a guy called Ranma. Due to an incident when he visited China with his father Genma, everytime he is splashed with cold water, he turns into a girl. This of course brings along a lot of conflict between all of the characters. The only way 'she' turns back into a guy is with hot water ^_^
There are some episodes that I really like, but the only downturn in the series, was that there were too many useless episodes which only wasted time and space. It becomes too obvious that the person ran out of ideas ^_^
Has anyone else seen this anime? If so, comment on it.

So ConstantlyInsane, I take it that you haven't watched it? ^_^ I personally like anime over the manga but that's all fine Some people like the manga better. You should watch it, it's pretty good if you want a laugh now and then.

= = = Saotome Ranma is a 16 year old student of Anything Goes Martial Arts (AGMA). He trains vehemently - for the bettering of himself, and to carry on the school of AGMA. To ensure that AGMA will continue on, Ranma's father, Genma, and his best friend, Tendo Soun, who is the only other AGM Artist currently alive, have betrothed him to Soun's daughter, Akane. Ranma and Akane don't get along - in fact, they down right hate each other sometimes. Of course, add to this the fact that Genma took Ranma to China for martial arts training, where Ranma fell under a strange curse...when splashed with cold water, his body changes to that of a girl, and can only be reversed with hot water... = = =
The drawings of this anime are not that good, if you're looking for fabulous, detailed drawings and graphics (like Ah! My Goddess!). Some characters in there can really annoy you and it kind of goes in circles. Despite that, this anime does contain some cool episodes.

Yeah, I saw that Death Soldier did. Thanks!!!
And even tough I can't get to the anime, most of the time, I like the manga better because my imagination is really 'powerfull' I guess you could say....and plays out what's happening in my head better than it would in the anime! Besides, I can't complaine about 'crapy animation' with a manga! ^^

Teehee.. your very optimistic aren't you? That's good.. I always tend to like anime better because of the drawings. Don't you think Ranma looks better in the anime than the manga? Oh well-- never mind, as long as you still get to know the story, right? ^_^

That's really a matter of opionen. Ranma has great drawing the simplicity of it make it extremly well done. The story is amazing and rumiko takahashi has cotinued the manga for a total of 34 volumes in japana. here in America we are on volume 23 *which i keeop up with* the show doesnt exactly follow the manga and i don't think Herb shows up either in it. THe anime is good but i prefer the manga becuase better comedy insues in it. While it may go in cirlces it all opionen. The comedy never gets boring for me and i enjoy it every time i read it. I've grown to like all of rumiko's work and love them all
