Actually, I've already calculated how much I've spent so far. It's somewhere in the 400 dollar range.

Would you guys consider the price of manga reasonable in general? Like..compared to other novels etc. The english translated ones tend to be more than double in price, and more expensive according to the more pages. Does it mean the price of manga doesn't actually consider how good the manga is (like other books?) I wonder how much I spent on my manga I don't think I have very much, but I still gotta say they are quite expensive. It's cool receiving them as pressis

Actually, I don't really think the price is reasonable. The usual price for manga in the US is ten bucks a book. >_<" Well, there's the exception of the mangas produced by Shounen-Jump, which are usually 7 bucks, which I think is a much better price than 10. I mean, even if it's only 3 bucks, with the amount of manga I buy, it would make a big difference.

I can understand how expensive they are...since as I moved to Canada, the price is 14 to 20 dollars a book, unless you wanted to buy the chinese or japanese versions, which would only be about 5. normal novels here actually only cost about 8, which is more than half the price. the only time it would cost the same would be if it was hard-covered. and thinking of comic books, they are really expensive...that's an even more expensive hobby then collecting manga..@_@...lol I don't exactly have that much manga yet, but I believe I've used around 300 US.

{If anyone comes to southern B.C Canada, look for a store called 'The ANime Genia' inside you can buy/rent both anime DVDs and Mangs. Dvd rentals are 5$ for one and 2 dollars every other one added.
If you buy one manga, they are 5$ every other one added. So if one is 20$ get 4 more and you'll get 5 for 40$.}
That was just a note, it seems to fit here since people are talking about the prices.

I like reading unlicenced manga for a little while, but if I really really like it (for example: Fullmetal Alchemist) I want it to be licenced so I can actually hold the manga in my hand. >_<"
And, yeah, the prices for manga has gone down, it's still quite expensive for those of us who have no real jobs. -sweatdrop- I'm not old enough to get one yet, so I have to work around the house to earn enough money to buy manga.

awww!!! you ppl making me want to buy manga now but sooooo expensive!!!! i don't really think the problem is buying just one manga... the problem is when u have to buy 12 volumes of it to collect the whole series and u end up paying 200 - 300 bucks for it of course i never paid that much for a manga series in my life but anyway... i think we all feel ur pain!!!
