At the moment, I'm collecting Fruits Basket, and DnAngel manga at the same time. Next, I might collect "Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles"...any good? I was hoping to find any recommendations of any great manga worth buying and collecting. I think its pretty hard to tell if it's any good because of the cover. For example, I don't find the Fruits Basket manga cover very appealing, <"Fruits Basket" by Natsuki TAKAYA ISBN: 4-592-17161-6 Hana to Yume Comics, 19992001 > and even when I read the summary/overview of the story about people changing into animals, it doesn't actually capture the true sense and quality of the manga- IT'S SUPERB! DNAngel and Fruits Basket manga would be my recommendations if you like the anime (doesn't help much does it? if you haven't watched it before )

Well, like anime, it all depends up on what genre you like. And sometimes, the manga is tottaly different from the anime. Like Yu-Gi-Oh! and the edited version of it playing in English-speaking countries. The manga is waaaay different from the anime and much better (in my personal opinion). I have oodles of other friends who have a wide variety of manga and I take adivce from them on what to get, or I'll just go to the store and browse around, looking until I find one I like.

Like Constantly Insane said it all depends on what genre you like. I like dark manga.
Lament of the lamb is good. It’s a dark vampire drama, but doesn't depend on gore and violence to get its point across.
Anything by Kaori Yuki is good, especially Angel Sanctuary and Count Cain. *her works are not for everyone, some contain content that many won’t like, incest, and religion ECT.*
X/1999 by Clamp is good. I haven’t read much of it, some find it disturbing so, it’s also not for everyone.
Ayashi no Ceres by Yuu Watase is a shoujo manga. If you have seen the anime and liked it, this is 10 times better. *the anime is crap compared to the manga*

I thought the Manga and the Anime were the same o.o But yeah, I found the Manga a lot more better.. (For some reason, I cant figure out why) Anyways, back into topic... I tend to like shoujo manga, but it all depends on what Genre you like Since you like DNangel and Fruits Basket, then Action wouldnt be the one for you, e.g Inuyasha.

In a confusing gender bender psychotic, maniachial, bloodthirsty and very dark and apocolyptical kinda way. The main character must die... hehe... I liked it while it lasted. It was soooooo long. - - - Advice on Galaxy Angel graphic novel - - it's ok. Period. ^^

Er, I don't wanna read all 7 pages because I have a real hard time trying to stay away from spoilers (>_<"), but I was wondering if anyone had read the manga Ayashi no Ceres?
If so, is it worth buying? I'm looking for a new manga to start reading, and was wondering if this was a good one?
((Okay, now I moved the right one this time, hehe.))

If so, is it worth buying? I'm looking for a new manga to start reading, and was wondering if this was a good one? ((Okay, now I moved the right one this time, hehe.)) Yes! I have it ^_^ It's really worth buying.. well.. in my opinion anyway.. I like it A LOT more than the anime, and I still really like the anime.. so you can see how much I enjoy it. I think it has a total of 8 volumes. Each one with about 3 episodes of the anime. *checks her manga* Oh yes, this is the Viz Graphic one. It says it is rated for older teens (about M15+)- this is because there's violence, nudity, blood and some horror. Some adult themes. I find it more of a Romance genre than horror. So it's gotta be okay with you; if you can handle it. Some people find it too much. Genre: Shoujo- defined as: 1. Manga appealing to both female and male readers. 2. Exciting stories with true to life characters and the thrill of exotic locales 3. Connecting the heart and mind through real human relationships. It mainly deals with relationships; (a love triangle), while when looking at the big picture- there's actually a storyline going on. I couldnt put the book down.. lots of suspense. It has the same storyline as the anime, except the drawings are much more prettier; and some of the things they say are changed, and some parts are added in. Of course, these are only my opinon on it It depends on what type of manga you're looking for ^_^ Just one warning: VERY hot looking guys. XD

Ooh, so it's more of a serious type of manga? I love those ones. ^_^ (Not that I don't like the funny ones, but I find the more mature types more appealing ) The fact that the manga was better also adds to the appeal, so it looks like I'm going to buy this one. Hehe. (Of course the fact that there are hot guys in it didn't help convince me to buy it... -insert much sarcasm-) Any suggestions of where would be the cheapest places to get the manga? In other words, where did you buy it and for how much?

For me, it was about $14 AUD. I donno if that's cheap or expensive... however, I'm sure you should be able to find it cheaper somewhere. Oh yes, and the Viz Graphics publisher ones call it "CERES: Celestial Legend" instead of "Ayashi no Ceres".

someone told me of eerie queerie too. ^_^" It just sounds like a whole humor manga...even though more of a romance...the guy isn't gay though....just seems it, since the guy is taken over by ghosts that are all women....which like guys. lol sounds kinda confusing. But, that's the only reason why he seems gay....but, technically, this manga really doesn't seem like a yaoi manga.

Well, Eerie Queerie is considered a shouen-ai manga, even though the main character isn't gay. I mean, nearly every other guy in the manga is. Anway, Eerie Queeire's a pretty short series, with only 4 volumes out so far (in Japanese). There are 3 of them out in English, and the 4th should be out sometime with-in the next two months.
