I have a feeling this is done before but impressions may have changed. As for me, although I intially thought dubbed was cool, I now have a liking for both (the orinigals give it the japanese feel but some dubs are well done as well)

I tried watching dubs a few times, but the hideously slaughtered names almost made me retch... subtitles only, please (except for schock value ;-))

I prefer Dub to sub, but they are both fine.

Me, I prefer dubbed sometimes.....just because it's easier for me to understand. It doesn't have to be in english to be dubbed. I like the cantonese version better for me, but, if they put Chinese subtitles, I don't understand it. And, that's y I liked dubbed....but than again, I'm not so happy with it, since i bought this box of VCDs....and it's in Mandarin, can't understand it at all....plus the subtitles are in Chinese...T_T

I'll take whatever language it was made in with subtitles. I read pretty quickly and usually when it's dubbed it's...eh. >.<" Bad.

now that I think of it, I think I prefer sub over dub, it's just that there are some quite nice dubs and it's easier to understand (I read slow and can't look at the images and subtitles at the same time)

another problem with subs is that some of the subtitles are too low or high on the screen and sometimes it gets covered up (probably just the tv- although I've tried it on this very old tv and it works better...)

that's the same as me... sometimes I miss what was said and have to have to rewind... it gets next to impossible to finish reading when they also add an explanation to a japanese term...

I used to like dubbed versions so I can understand it instead of read subtitles. It subtitles move so fast (must admit some jap people talk to fast). However, after watching the jap version and comparing it e.g Cardcaptors, I like the jap voices better. I guess it's also the accent...(no offence to any Americans), but the way some words are pronounced bugs me.
It really depends on which dubbing company, I guess. Some people get annoyed because of the different translations changed and cut off to make it more suitable to the cultural differences. I do prefer to watch it with the original japanese voices.
Sometimes the subtitles distract you from what you're watching. I think its kinda annoying if the sound is in english and the subtitles aren't the same.
I think the fansubbed do make a good job. lol..if I have Japanese audio, I prefer English subtitles =P I'm not really good with other languages. I remember trying to watch a Ranma1/2 movie with Chinese subtles....lol

Honestly, dubbed is okay, but I'm already used to subbed 'coz whenever I watched anime, in AXN {a channel} it's already using a english subbed with the original voices of the characters so, it's like subbed is better for me!

wow, I never knew there an actual channel (pay tv I assume?) that's subbed. the subtitles should be of high quality then (eg. not to low on the screen, easy to read font, large, good colour etc.)
